The way it has always been doesn't seem to be working there SO hopefully they will do things a little different this time around.......keep your fingers crossed!!!!!

He use to teach in the system and coached the middle school team.......can't speak for him but I think something may have when down at that time but at the same time he applied for the job the last time and was passed over. And not everyone is gone......there is one major player left from the last time!!!!

Coach Perry had great success at Garrard, but it will be a little tougher to have that type of success this time around if he is the next coach........just purely based on the competition will be tougher now but if they can get him they need to jump at the chance! Also, some of the kids may have a hard time adjusting to his coaching style.....one I may add that I like.

They are suppose to make it up February 15th......varsity only at 7:00! Sorry, didn't see the post above on the makeup date.

The Hodge to Garrard County is not going to happen......they had their chance when they hired Scenters and they blew it. I will tell you my opinion why they didn't hire Coach Hodge.......first he was a token interview to begin with and was never really being considered....second I would say he didn't tell them he would be a "yes" person and finally back then GCHS was not going to hire someone with GCHS ties. They may now but not then with person was doing the hiring and the people running the high school!

It first starts with the principle at the school, then with some of the parents of the players on the team that blasted him on social media like facebook, ect..... after Bourbon beat Garrard this year. Bourbon was the better team this year and last so they should have taken there beatings and been quite about it. In turn they may have had a "SECOND" chance to get Coach Hodge.....don't think that's this case now and you can't blame him. Plus, if those people that blasted him on social media for beating Garrard so bad had looked at all of Bourbons scores they would have seen that they beat most everyone that bad.......it wasn't just because it was Garrard County!!!!! People need to realize that Coach Hodge graduated from GCHS, played ball there, has a wife that teaches in the system and has family that is active in the community. I believe he still loves his school but why would he want to come back after all that has been said.

I could go on for days about the nonsense that has gone on at that school. It's about time the citizens of Lancaster demand better. At least they have finally got a good super from what I've heard. Hope he demands better too!!

I was there and I was glad he did what he did. I wouldn't have left as easy as he did.

Lol....I hope he takes it but I'm telling you the new super better be involved or it will turn out like last time. Trust me....I know what I'm talking about!!!

The reason for the bad special team problems is due to the fact every freshman or player that didn't get a lot of clock was on the special teams. Let's see....put all the players that aren't good enough to play or not ready to play varsity was on the special teams so the other team can run it back for a td or have great field position everytime they got the ball.....blah, blah, blah. It isn't gym class...it's varsity football. Ok I'm done rambling.....sorry!!!!

His record was equal to the coach that just left and some people thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

He was a good coach but it was time for a change when he stepped down.

Don't think he or the school would be interested.

I thought Stoney was a good coach. His personality sometimes didn't jive with the people in Garrard County but his last couple of years he lost control of the program and discipline of some of the kids.

Don't think Jeff feels like he is second fiddle to anyone but I believe he would rather be Chuck Smith's DC than be the head man at Garrard and im not slighting Garrard. I just think friendships will come into play on that one. As far as who I think will be the head man at Garrard......see above on Hester, to much animosity against Hodge. Didn't think Coach Perry was an option but he may be now....my opinion the new super better get involved with Perry if they want him and that's all I will say about that. If not Perry it will be the obvious......an up and coming assistant from somewhere.

Yes!!!! The administration may tell you there was more to her being let go but I can tell you the middle school principle was the super's pick when she got hired to clean the middle school up so he was backing anything she did. So instead of doing the right thing and finding her a job like some schools would.....they did nothing!!! Except hire another basketball coach who had to resign after little over a year.

I can almost guarantee that Hodge nor Hester will be interested in this job but stranger things have happened. Just from what I'm hearing Perry may have some interest in coming back as coach.....time will tell on that. As far as talent coming through, I know their sophomores who will be juniors next year had good success in middle school so they should be better the next two years. The only thing is their district may get a lot harder in 2015. I saw some of the middle school games this year and they kind of struggled this year and did have a few nice looking kids but overall looked a little down. Not sure but I think the little league program formed a league with Boyle, Lincoln, Danville and Mercer so that help the kids.

I'm not sure 6A high school football is as big as Big Boys SEC football and I know he was only a linbackers coach but I would think that is more "big boy" than 6A football in Kentucky!

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's exactly what needs to start happening at Garrard County but they can't seem to think outside the box. The reason perinnial good athletic schools have good academics is winning in athletics will make the kids win in the classroom. They will be proud of their school!!!!!!!

I agree 100% but if they have any of the coach's mentioned above interested in taking the job they better hire them immediately and worry about teaching positions, etc.... at a later date.
