Nice early road trip for the eagles. I’d say it be close to a good 3 hour bus trip. Bell County won this game last season but Campbellsville had chances and lead early. I shall be following this one Friday night for updates.

Louisville Holy Cross will take a short 7 mile drive over the take on 2A WEB Dubois. Louisville Holy won this matchup last season 22-16. WEB Dubois will be looking for some payback this season. 2027 will be even more fun as these two teams will become district rivals after WEB Dubois drops down in Class. This matchup should be a barn burner. Who wins this bragging rights game before it turns into a district rivalry?

Highlands has looked and played like a machine in the early scrimmage games. This will be a very good matchup.

Newport welcomes in Ludlow for a Northern Kentucky Small School Battle. Newport put a running clock on Ludlow last season 47-7. Ludlow will be coming in looking for some revenge. Ludlow returns most of its team from last year and return over 3,000 yards of offense. Newport returns just a little over 1,000 yards offensively and lost most of its offense from last year. Who wins this matchup of small school Northern Kentucky?

Pikeville welcomes in 3A Power Christian Academy of Louisville. Pikeville is looking to shock all of Kentucky and Slay the Giant. Christian Academy of Louisville won the matchup last year 45-7. Do the Panthers have a chance at Hambley? Does Christian Academy pick back up where they left off from its last scrimmage?

The 2025 Class 1A Champions Kentucky Country Day Bearcats welcome in the 2024 Class 1A Champions Sayre Spartans. The Bearcats topped Sayre last year 31-28 on a field goal with only a few seconds left in the game after jumping out to a huge lead before Sayre coming roaring back. Will this 2026 matchup live up to last seasons matchup? Who wins this Class 1A showdown of Champions? Does the Bearcats get back to back wins over Sayre? Does The Sayre Spartans pick up a huge opening season road win?

Middlesboro is ramping up the 2026 under new head coach Hunter Adams. Middlesboro won in a shootout last season 50-36. Breathitt County will be looking to get some revenge this season. The Bobcats return quite a few playmakers in 2026 but the question mark for them isn’t athletes, is a new offensive line is where the bobcats early season battle will be. If they can win it, then the sky is the limit for the bobcat offense. Middlesboro will look to lean on sophomore Caden Lawson to cause havoc from this running back position. Who wins this old school rivalry matchup? Does Middlesboro send the bobcats back to Jackson with a loss? Does the Bobcats come to Middlesboro and spoil the season opener for the Jackets?

Hazard makes its return trip back to Montgomery County for the Recreation Bowl. Hazard cruised to a 46-14 win last season. New Montgomery County coach Joe Chirico will hope to start his tenure off the right way in the winning column. Jordan Amis is hoping to start his Tenure off at Hazard with a win as well. So only one of these coaches is gonna start the season off the winning side of things. Who wins this opening season matchup? Does Hazard get back to back Recreation Bowl wins? Does Montgomery County start the Chirco Era off with a win?

14-6 is a good competitive game. Dayton will get better. I was hoping to see Holy Cross come out and put some distance between them and Dayton. Those NKY 1A districts are gonna go be fun.

This is how you get better. Play teams that are superior and gives you what you need to work on. I’m sure New Cath did some good things in this scrimmage.
