  1. I would sit on barbwire swing as long as the girls gt to play on a field built and suitable for fastpitch softball. LOL Seriously, I just wish they didn't have to contend with misproportioned infields and temporary fences in the outfield to play in State. It is a shame and another money move for somebody. Thanks to all who have replied, really enjoy the input.
  2. I know they shut own a tournament in December to be held at Rupp. Still allow Sweet Sixteen there though. That was a few years back too. Maybe it was something to do with just that tournament. Thanks!
  3. So like I had it in my post then? Or close? Thanks
  4. They should lay out brackets 37th Champ vs. 40th runner up 38th Champ vs. 39th runner up 39th Champ vs. 38th runner up 40th Champ vs. 37th runner up This keeps anyone from replaying district game until Championship Game in Region. Or am I off base? Will make for some great games nextr week!!! Can't wait, looking forward to it!!! Oh Yeah, GO COLONELS!!!!
  5. Just a few quick question.... How can certain regions play their tournamentsa at college fields? I know KHSAA shut down basketball tournaments at college venues due to the ability or unfair advantage of recruiting. Is that not looked at that way for softball as well? Persnally, I dont have a problem with the softball tournaments at college venues. I wish State was played at a college venue. Even the baseball state is held at Whitaker Bank Field in Lexington and we get lame, worn ou temporary fences on a mens mediocre softball field for state!!!!!! IMO you cut a deal with the big colleges and rotate state between them. Anyway, off my soap box.
  6. Final from Winchester. An 11 inning battle that I predicted it would be. Bourbon wins on a game winning double scoring the winning run from 2nd. I also feel this will be the match up for 10th Region Championship. Just IMO.
  7. Need to add, GREAT JOB Owensboro!!!! Wayt go into game and fight for an opportuniy!
  8. That is major wow!!! Please, details!!!
  9. It was great to see her back....even in the lose!!
  10. Game was pretty even up to the 4th. East capatilized on an error to go up 1-0. Bourbon was hitting the ball, just to positions and honestly when we did get the runners on they were wasted by not playing patient. We tried forcing runners into scoring position and didn't really need to. Leead off gets on, hit & run called (with the #2 already 1-1 today), Rise ball thrown, no swing, lead off caught going into 2nd. Next pitch #2 buries it in the fence, had we played patient lead off would have scored. I guess what I'm saying is hit & run is needed in the game, 1-0 in the top of the 4th isn't the time. If we wuld have let the game come to us it would have been a different situation. We are always rushing like we dont have a true concept of patience. Just frustrating. Not taking anything away from East, they played a well balanced game and exploited shortcomings. In the 6th Bourbon gave up 2 more runs. From there East excuted nicely to close out the last 2 innings. Side note: It was Hayley Hamms first game back since her injury. She pitched one helluva game.
  11. Would have to agree Owensboro (Jack C Fisher Park) is less than impressive and HUGELY disappointing wit the cheap worn out temporary fencing. Sad for the girls....they deserve to play on better fields than those.
  12. I hope they can finally take the region, LCDAWGS19. JUst don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves. But there is a few strong front runners that will definitely challenge Bourbon. The tougher non-region schedule IMO has helped Bourbon learn how to stay composed and execute through the pitching battles that they get into now. The only game I was disappointed in was against Male but Wireman was on and frustrating the while lineup. I agree that region will be filled with VERY good games to keep it interesting.
  13. Congrats to Bourbon County players Destinee Arnold and Candice Green for selection to KY East All Star team. Destinee Arnold/ Senior: Playing CF and leadoff for the Colonels has had an outstanding season so far and looking to help lead the Lady COlonels to their first State appearance!! Good Luck and congrats!!! Candice Green/ Junior: Catcher and batting 2nd for the Colonels has been producing behind the bat as well as behind the plate. Congrats on selection!! Top performers with great attitudes!!
  14. Thank you LCDAWGS19. Pleasure to be here. I guess I should give a little back drop and honesty. Beginning of the season I was not giving much credit to Bracken or Brossart but after seeing them play and following them a little closer, I had to clear the air and give credit where credit was due. I'm a Bourbon follower and feel they are the team to beat. I'm looking forward to them finishing strong this year but any on that list could be a threat in the region.
  15. Restructuring the top 5 of th 10th for me is 1. Bourbon 2. Bracken 3. Clark 4. Bishop Brossart 5. Harrison The Lady Bears played a very good defensive game last night. A few bad calls on both sides of the ball but bth teams played at a high level. Good job from both sides!!
  16. I am also have close connection to Bourbon. The pros - returning a lot of starters, most are 3 yr starters, good team cohesion "now", everyone is set to finish what they started. Should be 10th region front runner! The cons- at times they play young, entirely too many errors!! Correct those and they are golden. Aerial did lead in batting average, with 4 other starters within .010 from there. So over half of roster has stroke. I believe someone told me she was leading in errors per game too? Hopefully, that will be corrected for this year.
