  1. No cheese needed here. Would you like some? I just think the kids from ALL the teams give it there all to get to the State Tournament and then you get refs to call the games that don't need to be there calling.
  2. No excuses! Point blank the refs made a horrible call. NO Question about it. The kid flopped, it was not a foul no matter were the ref was or if it was "high". You let kids decide the outcome.
  3. I know when he fouled out! If the Kid from Calloway don't shoot 20+ free throws without going to the rim, and they are fortunate? Yes they were! Justice came alive when they were down 10 in the 4th. Then put his team on his back, was taking them home. What a call?
  4. Would have had 40+ the way he was scoring in OT! Plus a win. Everyone knows if he doesn't foul out, KCC wins. Bottom Line!
  5. How many times has a Mr. Basketball fouled out of a game in the State Tourney? Not to mention on a "flop"! Regions 1-4, 6&7 then 9 and 12. Nothing Lexington East!! Bet they won't be 5k attend the rest of this tourney! The next thing will be move the Sweet 16 to Western Ky!! Everything else is already. Great game from both teams!
  6. If you change the SWEET 16, you change HISTORY!!!! "If it is not broken don't fix it"! With that said.... I would like to see the Saturday Morning:Semi-Finals and Saturday Night Finals return. IF, you change it to a seed use a similar method as football: Regions 1vs 2 play 1st round. Regions 3vs 4 play 1st round. Rotate between the regions 1 vs 3 & 2 vs 4 then 1 vs 4 2 vs 3 each year. Regions 5 vs 6 play 1st round. Regions 7 vs 8 play 1st round. Rotate between regions like above. Regions 9 vs 10 play 1st round. Regions 11 vs 12 play 1st round. Rotate between regions like above. Regions 13 vs 14 play 1st round. Regions 15 vs 16 play 1st round. Rotate like above. This would allow for a "Final Four" made up of teams from a different geographical region each year ( ie Western KY, Eastern KY ect..) I know that putting the Regions 5&8 with 6&7 along with Regions 9-12 together makes thing very difficult for those teams, but does give the opportunity for more teams to make the sem-final and finals. Maybe!! Just a thought!
  7. Very Nice job! I have enjoyed reading your articles all season. Hope to see your write up after the state tourney or next season previews. These seniors along with Coach McKenzie have re-written the history books not only at their school, but also in the 15th Region.
  8. Yes I Do! You forgot Louisville Kansas Oklahoma and Iowa St. New rule just put in KY bracket gets 20 teams this year! Joe thinks everyone east of the Rockies and west of the ACC if ranked should go to the Mid West!
  9. Virginia gets beat by N. Carolina:woot: Duke gets beat by Notre Dame:banana: Anyway Wisconsin slides up to a 1?
  10. The Pack kid just might surprise a few people then. He has good size and a soft touch around the basket. He is good for a "field goal" or a few "extra points" for sure!!!:sneaky:
  11. 15th, Thanks man for posting! I agree with you and knew you would have some good insight. I think that if Central can "see the ball go through the net" early they will have a chance to pull the upset. They have to avoid a poor start. Is Ballard BIG? I watched the Region Championship against Manual and they crashed the boards on both ends. Douglas looked pretty tall. They did get a BIG break on the T at the end! Can't wait to see your Article on Sunday.
  12. See post 13 and 14. 15th, give us your thoughts on this game! You have followed the Eagles this year and would have the best input on what their chances are. I know this is a big task but will they beat the Bruins? I think it will be closer than what most are saying. The Eagles have been there 4 straight years, have a lot of talent besides Gullett and to me Ballard looks beatable more so than years past. I think a win is very possible! What do you have?
  13. To add another point about how Un-Lucky the 15th Region has been with respect to the draw at the Sweet 16: Since 2000, 11 of the 16 years they have drawn not only the 7th Region 5 times they have also drawn into a bracket that had them playing either the 11th region Region, 9th Region and/or the STATE CHAMPS 11 of the 16 years in the 2nd round game! 2000 Johnson Central beat Hopkins Co. Central only to play Elizabethtown in the 2nd rd -State Camps. 2001- 2002 Shelby Valley lost to Oldham Co. Would have played Lex. Catholic in the 2nd rd- State Champs. 2003 Shelby Valley lost to Lou. Ballard 1st rd. 2004 East Ridge lost to Caverna. Would have played Scott Co. 2005 Shelby Valley lost to Lex. Henry Cay 1st rd. 2006 Johnson Central lost to Jeffersontown 1st rd -State Champs. 2007 - 2008 Paintsville beat Jeffersontown 1st rd. played Cov. Holmes 2nd rd. 2009 - 2010- 2011 Shelby Valley lost to Christian Co. -State Champs. 2012 Johnson Central lost to John Hardin. Would have played Scott Co. 2013 Johnson Central lost to Lou. Ballard 1st rd. 2014 Johnson Central beat Campbell Co. Played Scott Co. In 2nd rd. 2015 Johnson Central draws Lou. Ballard 1st rd. That is a TOUGH stretch!!!!:banghead:
  14. The 15th has Region has drawn the 7th Region 5 of the last 13 years and 4 of the last 10 yrs. 2003 Shelby Valley/ Lou. Ballard 2006 Johnson Central/ Jeffersontown 2008 Paintsville/ Jeffersontown 2013 Johnson Central/ Lou. Ballard 2015 Johnson Central/ Lou. Ballard
  15. According to KHSAA Sheldon Clark beat East Ridge 64-45 on Dec. 9. Also, South Floyd has 1 Region Title: 2001 they beat Allen Central. 15th, I don't know how you do it! You have done a GREAT job of keeping everyone updated on all the on goings of the region all season. Very nice job as usual with this weeks recaps and laying out the 15th region tournament!! It has been a nice reading them this year. Hope to see more in coming weeks. I agree with your prediction for the tournament. I feel though with JC getting beat in the finals of the district they will come out with FIRE in the eyes!! I look for them to win by a bigger margin in all 3 of their games. This team got a wake up call! A shame they will play the #1 team in the state Lou. Trinity/ Lou. Ballard in the opening round of the State Tournament though.
  16. The 15th Region Tournament: **Played at East Ky Expo Center in Pikeville. 1st Round: Wed. 3/4 6:30 Sheldon Clark (22-5) vs East Ridge (15-11) 8:00 Lawrence Co. (17-12) vs Allen Central (13-17) Thurs. 3/5 6:30 Shelby Valley (18-12) vs Johnson Central (20-9) 8:00 South Floyd (12-17 vs Pike Co. Central (16-13) Semi-Finals: Sat. 3/7 6:30 & 8:00 Championship: Mon. 3/9 7:00
  17. In the notes section of the 57th District 2) it is noted that PAINTSVILLE "has not defeated any opponent (Summer Ball, District Play, Regular Season Play) since the Summer of 2008? This not true... They have 15 wins this year! They defeated Johnson Central, Sheldon Clark and Magoffin Co. in district play. Not sure what point you were trying to make? They have not won a district tournament game since 2012. However, the statement above needs to be re evaluated.
  18. The coin flip for the 1 seed was won by Johnson Central. Tuesday, Feb.24th: 6:30 1 Johnson Central vs 4 Magoffin Co. 8:30 2 Sheldon Clark vs 3 Paintsville Friday, Feb.27th: 7:30 Championship Game
  19. I herd the same thing, 105.7. They said (they) dont know who they are, were meeting i think they said tomorrow to discuss the possible re-districting of the 16th region?
  20. Chase Parsley had 29 for Sheldon Clark 4 players with 12 for Johnson Central Back to Back for fist time in school history for JC.
