  1. I agree with you 100% - it should be interesting in how they adjust to certain aspects of the game! One thing I think this team needs to develop is a half court game! When HC last year slowed the game down on them they looked a bit lost. I'm an avid Holmes fan, but Perkins needs to develop a half court game for these ladies if he wants a shot at winning the region.
  2. I expect great things from this group of girls as well! Return a lot of talented players! I put them right behind Holmes as number 2.
  3. I'm sure their starting 5 will be pretty solid with 4 of the 5 returning from last year! Tubbs is a big loss, but I saw on FB that they've been attending ASAP for workouts. Same place CCH boys go. I expect big teams from this group of girls! Watch out for McClendon-Englemon, heard she has D1 offer and other D1 interest.
  4. What's this do to the tournament? CovCath and the winner of this game was suppose to play tomorrow at 515
  5. Holmes coming off an impressive 3-1 win against Dixie host CovLat in the first round of the 35th District Tournament. Holmes has beat CovLat twice this season (6-1, 6-0). Both teams are looking to advance to the semi-finals where they'll play CovCath. Who wins this game? Why?
  6. Never seen Mason play before, but I am familiar with the Holmes squad.. I'm gonna say Bulldogs win this one but in a close one.
  7. Agree! Have a lot of threats this year. Should be interesting how this season will turn out for them.
  8. Lemus brothers are good kids, great soccer players! Side note: maybe this Holmes team can do some damage next year..
  9. He's a junior I believe - he's improved a lot this season, he had an asking game against CCH earlier this season. Has potential, if he keeps it up next year will be a breakout year for him.
  10. This doesn't surprise me. I think I called this in the prediction thread that they could possibly win! Great win for the Holmes program
  11. Big game at HHS next Friday night as both teams are looking for their first district win.. Holmes 2-5 and Mason Co is 0-7 Can Mason Co get their first win of the season as well? What do you think?
  12. IMO: I feel as if soccer has increased bc over the summer the USWNT won the World Cup, bringing attention to the game! Inspiring kids all over the country. Soccer is a difficult sport, it's not just about "kicking" a ball. It's a lot more than that! They have certain passes, and shooting! I bet most of you anti-soccer people don't even know the proper way to shoot a power shot! Yes soccer is low scoring, but that's because it's a game about strategies and team work! Football is competitive I've talked to kids who play both sports.. Sometimes coaching has A LOT to do with it! Most kids think soccer is "lame", "stupid", "easy", until they actually try it! Yeah football brings in more crowds, the games last longer, it's a Friday night and teens go there to hang out; how many of them actually watch the game? It's more of a social place for HS students.
  13. Holmes finally has a girls team again after 3 years without it. Props to them!
  14. Dixie - but maybe Holmes can pull off the upset - they're capable if they play their game
  15. CovCath should not be in this district.. If CovCath was redistricted this district tournament would actually be quite interesting but it's the same thing every year "CCH V HC in the finals" but beechwood may shock HC in the tournament.
  16. They lost 2 seniors Parker and Mayes who supplied quality minutes off the bench for the lady bulldogs! Lost a great shooter in Parker! They also lost Hannah Tubbs - who transferred back to Norwood for I believe family reasons! Tubbs had an impact on the team, very good player, but towards the end of the season with her knee injury she didn't make much of an impact as before! Holmes returns basically everyone, they will be a great team! I can see #3 Johnson stepping up and filling in the shoes of Tubbs. But we shall see.
  17. 35th district still has 3-4 seeding games to be played in the next two weeks.
  18. I agree, Holmes can come out with a win, as long as they bring their game. But with them you never know what team is going to show up. Should be an interesting game on Tueaday night!
  19. Yes, there is a chance! But both teams need to beat HC for that to happen! It would be beechwoods first regional appearance, but not Holmes! It'll be Holmes first time since like late 1990's? Maybe. I know it's been longer than 15 years.
  20. For Holmes this is a MUST win game if they want to avoid CCH in the first round of the district tournament! & hope for beechwood to beat HC when they play on the 1st I believe. The district seeding could be interesting depending on the out comes of the upcoming games in the two weeks. Holmes v HC - 9/29 HC v Beechwood - 10/1 Holmes v CovLat - 10/6 Beechwood v CovLat 10/9 HC already beat CovLat on Spetember 3rd 6-0
  21. District Seeding Game at Tom Ellis Field on Tuesday night! Holy Cross and Holmes met earlier this season with HC winning 3-1. Will this game be different? Who wins this game and why?
  22. Final. Holmes puts in a goal with 3 minutes left to seal the deal.
