You have to remember that you can attend on DI camp, but be seen by many DI scouts or assistant coaches that will attend and assist at that main camp. The camp is like an opportunity to network your talent to other schools.

Old Sports Dad it is very true that the Cooper team is a completely different team when they are healthy as with any football team, but especially at the QB position. I believe BW scored four times on turnovers (passes by our inexperienced QB filling in for the first two QB's). Cooper takes pride in their football and anyone should find it offensive for someone to brag about a beat down on half healthy team. BW has an excellent freshman team this year and deserve every win the worked for. We should all leave it at that and not this elementary boasting. It's a freshman football championship not the Superbowl, so anytime a school can schedule a game at that level to get kids experience, they should regardless of a freshman championship game. And on another note, who will even remember or care about finishing places once these boys are seniors at the varsity level? Cmon man!

There's a lot more to getting DI recognition/offers beyond the Friday night high school game. This has become a full time effort for parents to showcase their kids to the schools, not for the scouts to come looking. The percentages for DI offers are extremely low, so Tyler as well as any above average high school player has to go all out selling themselves to the colleges area recruiters and coaches. Some of the best athletes are passed over because because they sit back and expect their high school coach to do all the work, or expect every top schools recruiter to come knocking on their door. It only happens that way for very few elite football players.

It's good to hear that Beechwood could have hung 70 plus on the Jags, but as I said, if you could have seen them play Cov Cath, you would know that they are way more competitive than what was shown Thursday night. By your perception, you expect the Tigers to hang 70 plus on Cov Cath?????I don't think so, but I could be wrong. Thing is, freshman football starts with a young team building. looking and following a decent leader. If that leader goes down, the response is not always positive and team needs to find a way to battle through it. Without the first two qb,s the offense could not keep their defense off the field, and that amount of TOP would allow any half decent team to put up big numbers. The freshman Jags will be fine and in the future varsity years may reverse that opportunity to drop 70 on the Tigers, who knows it's only freshman ball.

I agree. The 1st and 2nd qb for Cooper being out may have not made a difference in the win/loss column, but they are definitely more competitive with those two in the game on either side of the ball, just ask Cov Cath. Beechwood has an awesome Freshman team and will be strong in the future in their 1A division.

So poor ole grandpa/grandma who can't get out to see little grandson Johnny play on Friday night , cant watch it on iHigh because Conner is afraid of what other schools will see? Cmon Man!!!!! Shame on you Conner!
