I know there was 22 8th graders and freshman at Mondays practice.

So there will be enough freshman to fill 18 spots this year?

I'll give general comments as I have a a dog in the fight on this team. A big "O" line. I think this line overall will be bigger than last year freshman team. A lot of skilled positions on Offense. I can make a case for 4 kids that could play RB and six that could be WR. My worry on Offense is QB. IMO no one stepped up last year to be the "guy". Maybe a transfer in will save us. Defense is a wildcard. This class has a lot of kids that are good athletes that play hard. But I don't see the typical game changer as we have seen in the past couple classes. Maybe it will change when the pads are on.

Bo is so quick I wouldn't be surprised to see him on D next year. After Seth Hope is gone they will need another stud on that side of the ball.

"How is a kid who gets cut on his school team going to find a good AAU program? Good AAU programs want to win and if a player who gets cut is looking they are not going to waste their time on that kid. IMO!" Agreed! My son starts HHS freshman football conditioning tomorrow when he could be playing b-ball. However, he had a bad experience in the Newport b-ball league and gave it up after his 5th grade year. Now it's HHS football. I didn't want to do the AAU route so we had little options to continue.

They played this today? Almost all of the Birds JV played last night.
