Boone County (2-0) will travel to Covington Catholic to take on the home team Newport Central Catholic. Don’t let the records or margin of victory/losses fool you. This will be by far Boone’s most difficult game this season, and NCC’s easiest.

Chicago Mt.Carmel 43 Cincinnati Moeller 42 Carmel went for 2 pt conversion with no time left.

The Crusaders make the short trip to take on the Rebels. Boone comes in at 1-0 after a 32-0 win over Holmes. St. Henry comes in at 0-1 after a 47-0 loss to Holy Cross. I will not be attending the game so if someone can provide updates that would be great.

Maybe I shouldn’t have put the “Senior Night” part in my post since that seems to be the only thing people are concerned about.

The Holmes Bulldogs travel to Boone County for the season opener. The Rebels strength will be the front 7 on defense. The secondary struggled to cover/tackle in the scrimmage against Campbell County on Friday. Holmes has a new coach this season and an easier schedule with opting out of district play. Can the Bulldogs break the long losing streak or will the Rebels win on Senior Night?

Asa Legrand had some snaps under center last year before a collarbone injury ended his season so I look for Asa to be the leading candidate to take over at QB.

The Rebels will need to replace their leading rusher Jackson who had over 900 yards rushing and 9 total touchdowns. The Rebels will also need to replace their top 2 receivers in Turney (500 YDS 5 TD’S) and Padilla (245 YDS) and QB Payton Storer. On defense the Rebels will need to replace its leading tackler Jacob Johnathan. The Rebels return Junior Steven Johnson who rushed for 460 yards and 2 TD’s. They also return Junior WR William Randall who had some big plays later in the year. They also return the 2nd leading tackler LB Travis Hodges (Junior) and DT Marveen Moise (Senior) who lead the team with 4 sacks. The Rebels are in good hands with Coach Court leading the program and I look forward to seeing the progress in year 2.
