  1. ok..I did and....................not all that impressed. Does T play Highlands. could be interesting. #1 Quarterback-Great First Half- great arm.. needs good receivers #23 Swabek.. fast and tough. Good D... D line was slow O line was ok, but .. x did not show anything on D St. X- QB fumble and interception in Q2 killers O line not effective D line not effective # 20 running back was very talented # 3 running back fast, but small QB play not effective... actually very bad.... so on and so forth.
  2. Tell me who to watch for on both teams.
  3. Not a whole lot to talk about, but Noe is impressive. He needs to be on the field at some position-very athletic. Dawkins is fast, fast and can really cut and run the ball. St. X has a couple of good looking soph backs that did not play either, so the running game was more tired than usual. The most discouraging thing for X was 3 first downs and 3 points...... Are you kidding me ?
  4. The strangest game I have seen since 5th grade football. It was 6-6 with 3:30 left in the game Central scored on a blocked punt, then X started a nice drive that was nullified by 2 stupid penalties. Last TD was as time expired off a hail mary that was returned for TD. It never should have gotten to that point The game was riddled with penalties (both sides, phantom calls)-no ebb and flow-refs took both teams out of the game and should be ashamed. It may as well have been the super bowl St. X left two touchdowns early in the game in two seperate series. One at the 1 yard line second and goal and once third and goal by trying some goofy pitch that both times were fumbled for 20-25 yard losses X Coaches were pi$$ed off at the starters on Offense and put in their 2's halfway through the 2nd quarter for an excercise if futility. Not to take away from Central. They had a fast D that was very aggressive. Their Offense is ok, but they run an option and rarely throw. From an X fan's perspective, if X jumps out early like they could and should have, this score would have been reversed at worst. It was just one of those games.. Hard to swallow.
  5. touche', assume you were there and watched it. As you know that could have gone either way. As an X man I was very proud of our effort for a first gamer. Not taking anything away from Highlands, as they are very talented and athetic. That was as good a Freshman game as one could expect.
  6. just a question from a louisville area fan. Do either of you (Cov Cath or Highlands) schedule 2-3 games against Cincinnati Teams ? Seems to me this is really the only true measure of how you will look in 2-3 years. Same here in Louisville. So far X and Trinity Frosh are smoking every other school.
  7. St. X jumped on Male early and cruised to an easy win. X Defense much improved. Male could not do much at all on offense and pretty much was gashed in the first half. Excellent play by St. X. No 9-QB Hayden. Rb's #20-Walker and #3 Miller looked the part. #6 Roshkowski is a tall receiver that is starting to get noticed. Offensive Line getting better. Two long X TD's (punt return and kick off return) called back due to stupid penalties. Defensively-#32 Clemons is all over the field, as is Caffey #55 middle linebacker. Much pressure all night from D line and blitzes. D backs and safeties Wilbourne #29 (punt Return) and Percell (pick 6)#22 both had tds
  8. I doubt this will be a close game at all. St. X-Cincy has too many weapons. I see Trinity scoring a few offensive touchdowns, but look in the mirror and Trinity will see more players with their speed and unreal size to go with it. I would love to see Travis Wright (Trinity's QB) have another great outing but Cincy X will be in his face more often and will not let him get away from them. Cincinnati X:#4-One of the best High School Backs I have seen. Runs behind his pads and his blockers well. Is patient and will gash Trinity's D #36-Tight End-goes about 6'3" and has speed and downfield blocking skills. Does not go down easy. YAC champion. Offenseive Line- I know Elder was big, and so is this team, just big and fast. Defensive Line-I think they are all Big-Time D1 prospects and again big and fast. #8 Linebacker-Freaky. #11 Linebacker-Freaky and Great Kicker DB's-All tall and quick and fast. Lastly, they both run similar offenses, therfore nothing that either team has not seen. St. X has too many weapons. Trinity has the Home Field Advantage so lets say Trinity 21 Cincy X-37
  9. This is a grat question. As a Louisville X fan, I travelled up to Cincy last night to view that debacle. Quick notes below: Very disappointed with Lou. X Offense. That being said, Cincy X has an unreal D-Fast, Big, Strong. Lou. X O LIne was pathetic. Trinity has a quck strike offense and will move the ball. Not sure of Trinity D, but you can expect Trinity to work with short passes. Lou. X defense played 3 really good quarters, and Cincy X's O line size and speed just wore them out. Cincy X's #4 back and #23 are better than Trinity's backs I expect Trinity to score more than Lou. X. but think that Cincy X will have more success with their O 37-21 Cincy X.
