I know Highlands is up 5-1 on Beechwood as of the last update I received.

Geez did you ever think these big schools dont want to play Highlands because it is a lose lose situation like I mentioned earlier comparing them to a Boise St team trying to get in a mix with the Big Boys??

Haha having some NFL players helping out can't hurt anyone but I'm happy for Bellevue and they are making strides in the right direction to getting on NCC's and Beechwood's level in Class A.

You totally ignored the point I made about schools NOT wanting to play Highlands because of the lose lose situation it imposes on the school. I know for a fact Highlands has repeatedly asked Trinity and St. X to play a 1 home 1 away series as well as Anderson (scheduling conflicts this year hindered a game there) and Highlands attempted to schedule Winton Woods but that fell through on the Winton Woods side as well.

I think scrimmaging Trinity is the first step in getting a regular schedualed game with them in the very near future. Highlands has the Boise St. curse. Its a lose lose situation for the bigger schools to play Highlands. You look bad if you lose and if you win you were supposed to because your school is so much bigger.

I agree 100%. In the state of KY's eyes a win over St. X or Trinity seems more important but a win over a top GCL school bodes better for Highlands on the national stage!

I do expect to QB's throw a int here or there. Do Highlands and Dixie have a 7 on 7? That'll be fun to watch!

I stated it will have some sort of impact yes. More then just his stats but also his attitude if and when they were to get beat. Quinn also played a lot better competition then Pike will play. Quinn probably had a 5 td game against a team from Cleveland just as good as St. X. Highlands will be the best team Dixie will face all year then there is a major drop off in competition. We'll just have to wait and see how the game/season goes.

Your comparing Pike in high school to Brady Quinn in high school? Don't hold a kid who has never played a varsity down at QB on the same level as Notre Dame great Brady Quinn.

Your correct because Dixie's defense was non existent last year and may be the same this year. Now say Towles were to do that in the state championship game or even in the Trinity scrimmage game coaches would definitely take notice because of the opponents he was playing against.

College scouts definitely look at stats but they take many more things into account as well. My reasoning was you will get to see how Pike does against a very good defense, one with some division 1 players on it. Scouts will also see what kind of attitude he has if Highlands whips them 49 to 3.

It will have an impact just like every other game he plays in. Towles vs. Pike. It'll be most likely the biggest game up here this season. And you are sorely mistaken to think the outcome of this game will have no impact on either of the QB's in particular Pike because he will be playing against a much better defense then Towles.

Only time will tell but we will see how good Pike is game 5 of the season when the Bluebirds come into town. I wouldn't want to miss that game.

I am curious to see how many of the schools that have offered Pike intend on him being a quarterback. This is a huge reson why Nichols didnt commit to UK before ND showed interest. Joker told him he would be on the line at UK and Im guessing since he is at ND now Kelly told him he would play TE. But in all honesty I would be shocked to see Nichols play TE for Notre Dame as well as I would be shocked to see Pike as a QB for a major division 1 team. He'd make one heck of a defensive end though.

For the simple fact that at the next level he projects better on the defensive side of the football. In high school one is asked to do what is best for his team and in Jason's case, that is play on the offensive line. Now what's in Jason's best interest that gives him the best opportunity to continue his football career in his eyes, is on the defensive side of the ball. This is a very common thing that happens on many high school football teams. For example, Collinsworth playing running back last year. He won't see a down at the running back position at Notre Dame but in high school last year that is what Highlands needed from him to succeed to their highest potential.

I definitely see Jason as a solid contributer next year especially with the mass exodus of our offensive line of last year. He's a tall and long body that'll be greatly needed to protect Towles.

Who do you look at to be Highlands #1 running back this year? With Compton coming on strong like he is, does he get the nod for the starting spot?
