  1. 1:30 left to go 72-63. Lex Cath has really brought it to Mason Co. late this game.
  2. Sounds like he has really taken charge these past few minutes.
  3. Big three by Sanford of Catholic to tie it up with about 10 secs or so to go.
  4. Big rebound Lex Cath didn't grab there on the missed free throw.
  5. Enjoying the Mason Co. station so far. They do a pretty good job announcing.
  6. I am too slow to do this it appears.
  7. 56-54 5:42 to go with Novosel still having one more free throw to shoot. Miller just picked up his fourth foul of the game going over Novosel's back.
  8. This might have been answered already or said somewhere but is this game on the radio?
  9. Well he has been asked to walk on at Vanderbilt and already comitted there academically. So yup.
  10. You either misread me or I made it confusing but I was referring to Catholic's two losses. I know Mason has only lost once and to who it was. As for Novosel (honestly, im never sure I spell it right either) last I heard I think he was heading to Princeton most likely. As for the game, I also hope foul wise its pretty fair tomorrow though I only saw one game so far and being a biast Catholic fan tonight I didn't think it was as unfair as the Paintsville fans would have led you to believe. The Knights play a physical full court press and might get away with a touch foul here or there but overall I don't think they simply won the game based on refs handing them it. As I said before, I personally think this can be a closer game then predicted by the majority so far. If forced to side I'd say Mason has a slight advantage currently but if Lex Cath is hitting their shots and staying out of foul trouble they are good enough to win this one also. Wish I could be there tomorrow however I can't so I'll say in advance good luck to both the Mason Co. and Lex Cath teams as this is always a fun game to watch.
  11. Im not predicting Lex Cath will win, however YOU do realize that Mason Co. is not undefeated and can be beaten right?
  12. I think this game has potential to be closer then some people think. I know Lex Cath has that loss to Cov Cath on their resume which definately looks bad but this team over the past month has been pretty tough themself. Like I said in my first post, the Knights have to avoid let downs. I feel stongly that they can at least play with Mason Co. however in their two losses they blew leads late in the game and they have to avoid that let down. And yes, I get that both teams probably had to hit some good shots to get back in those games but the Knights can't allow teams to get those opportunities. The Knight's are going to have to make sure that all four of their big scorers perform tomorrow to win but it isn't going to be simply a cake walk for Mason Co.
  13. Lex Cath has to just keep their head in this game and not have let downs. Mason Co. has to penetrate inside, get Novosel in foul trouble, and break down Lex Cath's press. If im Lex Cath I honestly might not press as frequently as they did tonight. I don't like predicting things so I won't. Obviously I just wanna great game like these teams seem to usually produce.
  14. It was a 20 point game at the half until Catholic made a dumb foul on the last second three point heave by Paintsville to give them three free throws. In the second half Paintsville really only had three pointers and a few fast break layups working for them and Lex Cath was up by about 25 or so with three minutes to go when they emptied the bench. Not sure of the exact final but the game was really defined by Lex Cath running out to a huge first quarter lead and then just maintaining it the rest of the time.
  15. You may be right. When it comes to straight shooting Clifton might have the most automatic jumper. I base a lot of what I say on the fact that when it came to big plays especially driving to the lane or making plays inside, Martin was the one to deliver but Clifton is probably a more pure shooter. She brought the ball up some but I'd say Martin seemed the better ball handler. Barnette I know is good (just basing that on what I saw last year) but she did not really do much in this particular game besides a big three late. She seemed to disappear at times, probably because of foul trouble. Once again when it comes to these two teams it looks like we are in store for some pretty good games this year if they can continue to compete head to head at the level they showed in this one. Throw in Dunbar and the region is once again going to be pretty tough to get out of.
  16. Its no doubt true as I noted even during the game, however from a Catholic fans perspective, if you don't have centers that matchup well down low size wise with a girl, you'd at least like to see that she has to move occassionally from the lane instead of just standing there for five or more seconds. I don't want to claim this was something that really kept the game close or anything. Frankly I thought while the refs weren't the best that they were at least equally fair with the teams. LCA did get a lot of fouls called on them in transition D where Lex Cath took the ball to the hole but that is an expected call especially at this level. Overall this was a physical and competitive game that was played well between the teams.
  17. Ha, guess I got to correct ya. Her brother and sister both attended the school but she has been at Lex Christian since freshman year. She did however begin in the Lex Cath middle school programs and actually went to the same grade school as Natalie Novosel.
  18. You could probably throw Brianna Green in there as a point guard. You wont find many girls who can handle the ball and dish to the open teammate as effortlessly as she can.
  19. All I can say is that any team mentioned should have Anna Martin from LCA and Natalie Novosel from Lex Cath on the list. Both girls are on a different plane of talent. They might not have one great thing they can do, but their overall game is pretty impressive and should carry them to the college level. Otherwise I can't comment for the rest of the state because I haven't seen a lot of other teams. I'd love to see Dunbar play because I hear they have a pretty exciting team this year but I couldn't tell you much on any one individual player. I'll reserve opinion to those who have seen a bit more then me however any combination of the 11th region stars would be pretty scary.
  20. You really think so? The reason for the majority of LCA's fouls was that they couldn't stop Novosel going to the hole unless they fouled her. The game wasn't called well but by the same token, LCA's big girl might as well have had a campfire set up in the lane because she had set up tent in there and didn't leave. The refs were not good and missed many calls for both teams but I felt in terms of LCA's foul trouble they got away with as many as well. Anna Martin is a heck of a player but she has to avoid silly fouls such as the retaliation foul she got in the first half. LCA might have had some mistakes and foul trouble that made this game tough for them but by the same token Lex Cath played pretty good and won this game legit.
  21. As for LCA, they did a good job last night as well but missed a lot of easy shots under the basket early which really could have changed this game. Im not sure if making those shots would mean a win, Natalie Novosel really was on a mission last night and only her suspect jump shot could stop her, but LCA definately had their chances. Look for both of these teams to improve as they integrate certain players into their line ups and gel as a team. Both teams still have some spots they can improve on.
