I've heard the same over the last 24 hours, SS. I know Trame is a good guy and would give his all to the program, but I'm not a fan of fathers coaching their sons in HS. Isn't his boy in the program? IMO, Scott admin owes it to the community to do a broader search. You never know who might be out there looking.

Did some searching. Before Troy, Scott reached the regional finals in 1988 (won), 1989 (lost), and 2000 (lost).

Troy comes from a coaching tree that values pitching and defense. My take (from my front row seat) would be that there might be a faction in Taylor Mill who either don't know the game or are/were jilted over playing time or other internal matters. Great hire for SK, and best of luck to Scott. Me and Mrs. Wildcat will be cheering on both teams from right here in our corner both. We see no evil and speak no evil. Hearing it? Now that's a different story.

Admin at SK know what they are doing, and made the right call. It's a new day in Independence. Opponents of the choice need only wait 9 months to see the result.

Would be a good hire, but not sure Bob would be interested. He has a pretty good thing going in Fort Mitchell. From my vantage point 100 miles away, I'd like to see Brad Arlinghaus. The timing probably wouldn't allow it, but I like what he's done in Hebron.

I think we can agree that the grass isn't always greener, but that applies to OC as well. There are a lot of schools and districts that would love to have what you have.....athletically and academically. Should kids be excused to go to the state tournament? I think so, but I'm sure there is a good reason why the admin decided to not do so. Perhaps calling them instead of publicly bashing them would be a good idea. A wise man once told me.....if the grass looks greener on the other side, pay yoru water bill. Good luck to the Colonels. GRC is a tough matchup.

Last time I checked...... TWO gyms at every high school, turf field at SOHS, new baseball and softball fields at SOHS, new complex at NOHS, new fieldhouse and lights at OCHS, BOARD support of non KHSAA sanctioned sports like field hockey and lacrosse, and even the middle schools are moving toward baseball and softball programs. I don't know where you get "no emphasis on athletics here" but I'd be interested in your explanation. From the outside it seems there is plenty of support and emphasis. When and why did you move to Oldham?

Was at the game. Agree that officiating was suspect, but they did get the technical call correct. I thought they waved off the tech on Rowan, and rightfully so. The boy from Walton clearly flopped from my vantage point.
