There is NOTHING conservative about Mitch McConnell. He's a liberal Republican with a big government voting record and he's part of the R caucus that RUINED the Republican brand in the 2000s. Rewarding a big government Republican at the polls will only give future Republican candidates an excuse to believe they can mobilize the conservative base and win an election without taking a stand for conservative values. Don't be so shortsighted, think long-term.
-
The worst outcome for the conservative base is to reward McConnell's career-long track record of bad political behavior at the ballot box on Election Day.
-
McConnell has voted to raise the debt ceiling 9 times, voted for this past year's fiscal cliff deal, voted to fund Obamacare, voted for the bank bailout, voted for No Child Left Behind, voted for Medicare Part D. . . As a staunch conservative, I'd rather have a liberal Democrat (Grimes) than a big government Republican like McConnell whose only real accomplishment is destroying the Republican brand and demoralizing our base.

When I filibustered over domestic drone use, critics said that I was being ridiculous. They said that no American had been killed by a drone on American soil and that no one was likely to be anytime soon. President Obama responded that he hadn’t killed anyone yet and didn’t intend to — but he might. That wasn’t the point. The filibuster was about the limits of power. It was about how much authority the president imagined he had. Lincoln wrote that nearly any man can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man, give him power. The costs of living are skyrocketing, but I don't understand how raising the minimum wage is a solution while our economy is experiencing high rates of unemployment, and raising the minimum wage would surely increase unemployment for young and/or uneducated workers. If you want to fix the costs of living, we can talk about inflation, but raising the minimum wage is counterproductive and contributes absolutely nothing to lower-class and middle-class workers. -

Food for thought: The standard of poverty in this country is higher than most countries' standard of living. Just saying... -

If this were the case, Derwish would still have US citizenship considering his parents were "domiciled" in NY for the first 5 years of his life. That's mere speculation, there's nothing substantive backing up that claim. Legally, Awlaki and his son were both US citizens. Washington DC is not even denying this fact. How to lose citizenship: Loss of nationality by native-born or naturalized citizen; voluntary action; burden of proof; presumptions ?Birther? Sen. So they were both born on US soil, and they never renounced their citizenship? Which makes them both US citizens during the time of their deaths. -

I'm against killing US citizens on foreign or domestic soil. I'm just pointing out the similarities between the past two Presidents. Their foreign policies parallel each other. -

Obama's drone program is a mere reflection of the policies implemented by the Bush Admin. First U.S. citizen killed by drone strike: November 5, 2002, an American citizen named Kamal Derwish was killed by a CIA drone strike inside Yemen. Kamal Derwish - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia -
A universal background check treats law-abiding citizens like criminals by forcing them to prove their innocence to government bureaucrats just to engage in commerce. If you can't trust someone with a firearm, then they shouldn't be on the streets in the first place. Felons can still buy a box of matches and a bucks worth of gas, but we tell them they can't provide their own effective means of self-defense, or vote. This is unconstitutional because it prevents individuals from exercising their Right to Bear Arms. Abortion is sinful and abhorring. From conception on, the potential of life exists and during this time that developing organism is susceptible to life and death. If that organism is susceptible to life and death, then that organism has every right to it's life. Why don't we call abortion for what it actually is? Murder.

What election did you watch? LOL Romney won the primary because Conservatives were told he was "electable." I'm still trying to figure out why McCain won. For God's sake, Romney publicly stated he wouldn't repeal "pre-existing coverage" in Obamacare, that's the worst part of the entire bill. Enough with the Moderates, let's elect a true Conservative. -

Quote from FB friend: "Yay Michigan! I love how this is billed as "controversial," though. I didn't know that the freedom to work without government forcing you to pay tribute to a private organization that spends money on political speech you may not agree with was a terribly contentious concept. But a racket is a racket, and when people spend generations making a living off of it, they don't give up easily. Or, in this case, they tear down the Michigan Americans For Prosperity tent with knives." -
