With those four seniors starting on the mound, they got a heck of a rotation, although Russell was used as a closer last year. With their strong pitching and very strong supporting cast you just mentioned, they could be the straw that stirs the drink.:popcorn:

I agree Dixie will be a force. Dixie also has junior Tyler Sexton at pitcher. They got to have the top 1-2-3 rotation in NKY. I wouldn't take that "other" team from up Dixie Highway too lightly. Look for senior Adam Warning to have a good year on the mound.

Samad will be fine. He was under the weather all week.

I've seen plenty of varsity players out there who played Knothole through Class A (15 years old). Most of the Class A Knothole teams couldn't compete with a National or American SWOL team, but there are usually some Class A Knothole teams that can compete with the Continental SWOL teams. The Class A teams that can compete with the SWOL teams usually have about 4 players that could make an American SWOL squad, 4 players that could make a Continental squad, and about 6 players who couldn't make any SWOL team. That means if you're one of the top 4 players from the team, you pretty much get to play and develop in your favorite positions and don't have to worry about riding the pine if you're on a SWOL team. Of course the Knothole regular season is too short (14-16 games) so you play for a coach who enters your team in tournaments and also plays in fall ball leagues against competition outside Knothole. When your year is done you've played 30-35 games in the position you most want to play and develop in. But when you're 16 (10th grade) and serious about baseball, you need to be in a league like SWOL.
