Yet another disappointing game in a string of them for Ryle. Poor defense and non-existent hitting, though that is not to take any credit from Tates' pitcher, who was very good. Ryle's starter did a decent job and would have been in the game if he'd have gotten decent defensive play behind him. And a few runs is always nice. :irked: Ryle is better than this. They need to turn this around before this type of play becomes habit-forming.

This doesn't sound like a typical Ryle Team? 11-1 Did TC just hit the ball that much or did Ryle help the cause with untimely errors in the feild? Scoring 1 run surpises me a bit since I know the kids who play. Did you go to game?

Yep, I was there for the entire painful game (from a Ryle perspective, of course :ohbrother:). TC is solid, no doubt about it. They hit well, but didn't destroy Ryle's starter (there was one HR). But mix in 3 walks and 4 errors with some decent hitting by TC and it turns into a rout. Ryle had two soft singles and only scored a run due to an error and a couple of walks issued by TC's pitcher that inning. Ryle is not hitting, pure and simple. There is just no room for error these days for their pitchers and it doesn't help when the defense isn't making plays. Hopefully just a slow start with the bats for the Raiders, but the hitting slump is going all the way through the lineup at this point.

I have allot of respect for Ryles Coach. I'm sure it might have been painful..but...you wont keep good hitters down for long. And ,as I've said earlier, it's early in the season and the bats as well as the teams feilding woes will correct themselves. Your right on the money with the feilding errors. Having a son who plays for Boone I've noticed where each error has led to a run crossing the plate if not two. 3 walks and four errors and just a couple hits will hurt any team.

Fairly tall, thin right-hander with a very nice motion, good fastball (mid-80's), nice curve, and good control. Possibly #22? Good pitcher. I would assume he's TC #1 or #2. If he's lower on the depth chart than that, TC must have one unreal pitching staff.

The pitcher was Abe Mitchell. From what I have heard, he's pretty high up on their depth chart.

One of Tates Creek parents told me the pitcher was probably their # 3.
