  1. I believe... if you think what those boys were doing on the bench was 'boys being boys' or 'not that bad' then like Krumpelbeck, you lack class. Do you believe that Ruthsatz would allow his boys on the bench to act in that manner? Absolutely not. He has control of his team and he has class. You can't control what goes on in the stands, but you can, and better, control what you kids are doing and saying on the bench. CC played a very good game and it was overshadowed, based on this fodder, by actions of a few kids on the bench.
  2. They only thing predictable about this game is that it will be a good one. I'll say BW wins 4-3.
  3. I know Beechwoods #2 pitcher, Combs, is hurt.... but why didn't their ace, Suchanek pitch?
  4. Once. They were scheduled for another but it was cancelled... doubt if they reschedule. IMO not much emphasis put in freshman ball for games or makeups. They just get was is left by the older boys. lol. They just have to wait their turn. I did hear one of the CC parents state that one or two of the boys (9th graders) was up with that jv that day.
  5. Beechwood Freshman has beaten Cov Cath, Highlands, Cooper along with Boone. They have to be considered for the top 5. They start two 7th graders. They have lost to Brossart and Conner. I believe Conner is the best team this year.
  6. You know what I find comical, Rocky? It's funny that nobody uses there real name in here. I found it kinda interesting in the beginning that everyone was using sports references as their moniker, so I did the same. Now I see that its so that you can say whatever you like about anyones kid and hide behind a made up name. You know what else I find comical?.... this whole thread, minus 1 comment about the 5 errors CC had, has been about how overrated BW is. Not one comment about Schriever and how his only contribution was getting hit by a pitch.... or how he struggled against overrated sophomore pitching. Hopefully CC doesn't put the trophy for that game too far back in the case... (steps off soapbox)
  7. Build them up and then knock them down, boys. That's what you all are "good" at. They are teenagers with more talent than you or I ever had or will have. Your arguments are not constructive nor are relevant. Beechwood has played two other games since this.... well played game. They lost. Big deal. These boys are going to have great games and not so great games. Every time they lose you going to post about the super sophs or as you now call them "super sophs". I'm sure if they weren't "super sophs" then major colleges wouldn't be handing them full rides. Is that what you are jealous about? Get over it. Win or lose they are fun to watch. So,go watch a game ....or not.
  8. Another good outing for the young Tigers. Noah Huesman (BW) had control issues in the second inning, as the birds scored 5 of their runs, but he pulled it together to pitch 6 innings. Harrison Heist got the save.
  9. Beechwood PJ Rump 2-4 (2B) Clay Trusty 2-4 Lucas Benson (HR) Benson pitched 3 Ian Meyer 3 Noah Huesman 1 Five run 3rd inning doomed the Tigers.
  10. Absolutely, this is the best team. The only other team that compares is last years team with Henderson.
  11. I just sent a few emails to some corporate people. It would be a nice story for a hometown company to take on this cause. The boys do deserve it. I would send some money if I had any to spare. I'll post if I get any nibbles.
  12. Good point. Then what about Jennings? Could it have been the two different eras that they played? And, do you think we will have the same level of respect for Rico years from now?
  13. Whose point are trying to make? Dickie was right, Schloemer was better....even better still was Jennings. You still haven't answered my question, why the iconic status for Beal? :idunno:
  14. Believe me, I am not saying Dickie wasn't a solid High School basketball player. He was certainly not great. IMO....people on here throw 'great' around a lot. It should be reserved for truly exceptional players; Ex. O.J Mayo, LaBron, Kobe, Magic, Dwight Howard, ..... These were great High School Players. Dickie wasn't even the best player on the '78 team. Schloemer (sp) was Mr. Basketball. Albeit Schloemer didn't have the size to be a good college player, he made much more of impact on that team. So please, someone, explain to me why this area attaches the reverence to the Beal name? Where is Schloemer Street? Is it a race thing.....I truly don't know. ......and yes I watched him play at both the high school and college level.
  15. I know you are knocking it, Steele, but Gullet warranted at the very least a WAY.....Gullett Way?
  16. We need to put this subject to bed.....along with Dickie Beals' so called legacy. He was a good high school player and a average college player. Can't understand how we could name a street after him. This years team will be the team to remember. IMO.
  17. I would go after the coach from Scott High School. Not sure of his name, maybe Karr. Very solid coach and has done quite well with minimal talent. Give him some real athletes, like Highlands, and see what he can do.
  18. Let's just give them a bye to the finals next year. Fresh enough for you or would you then call them rusty?
  19. Exhausted Holmes 82, Fresh Elliot County (with no Mountain Dew) 75
  20. ....and I'm SURE the Marines are happy you put them on your impressive resume.
