I would agree that it doesn't seem like a likely move. But I had heard that Renner could possibly be getting out of Ballard. At the time, I thought that meant he was getting out of coaching. Maybe things are just "stale" for him??? Maybe he is looking for a change of scenery? With the exception of a few, most coaches don't stay at the same job forever. No inside info.....just possibly putting 2 and 2 together on things that have been said. OR this could all be hearsay and Renner stays at Ballard until he is 100?

I guess I was wrong.......everyone is happy where they are on the girls side......3 or 4 coaching changes. I think there were 40+ on the boys side

I think you are correct.....that was going around at the State tourney.....but have not seen anything to confirm?

I have thought about it today.......it was his sister that said it.....not the coach himself. I would have a bigger "issue" with it if he had have said it. Who knows, he might wish that his sister hadn't have said it???

Most times it probably comes down to being a popularity contest.....maybe they don't like Murphy.....if Coach Murphy is like most coaches, he could not care less about the individual award. He can use the "scoreboard" cheer to set people straight. If he does care about the individual award, there is a problem IMO.

Now I think they have made it where you can coach your own. Only period that you cant is the dead period which is a couple of weeks toward the end of june.

Shouldn't someone have told Joe B what Miss Basketball's name was??? That's a big moment for the kid and her name doesn't get announced correctly?

Anyone heard any names/rumors about possible coaches? I heard a name that I think would do great at boone---not sure if there was any facts behind it OR if it was just hearsay. The name I heard just resigned from an 8th region school.

You are telling me the postseason officials are the best the regions have to offer? That is a BIG wow for me!! There are ones that are worse than this??? Oh my!!! I thought they must have just drawn names out of a hat---or did first come, first served---seniority??? wow wow wow

It isn't handled.....that is the problem! A foul is a foul and should be called accordingly??? The good ones do this----the others just make it up as they go.

So just for fun.....I would like to read your responses to my questions from earlier. When was the last time you saw a Varsity official demoted for poor performance? When was the last time a referee was fired for poor performance? Now transfer that over to any other job that you choose and explain to me where the accountability is? Evaluated?

If I "interpret" which IMO is a kinder way of saying not do my job competently, I will be demoted or fired??? Most employers have expectations. Referees are "employed" by the schools/regions/KHSAA that they serve. If they do not do a good job, is there no accountability?

Let me answer this with a question.......when was the last time you saw a "varsity" official suddenly doing JV games.......OR....to take it a step further.....who was the last official to get fired for poor performance? I have kept up with the game for a few years---my answers to the above questions are NEVER....and don't know of any. Anyone?

I realized yesterday that I may have been a little overly critical of some of the referees that are in the region that I watch regularly. There are some good ones and some not so much. But the region switcheroos that they sent in to do "important" games for the kids were just not very good. It is an incredibly difficult job---but if the guys they sent are the best in their region, I owe all of our region's officials a public apology!!!
