I haven't seen a CovCath game at home in years but I will always remember playing their in High School in the 70's and seeing my old friend, Scott Knochleman, leading the charge!

I know they are all healthy and back to playing " get after you" basketball.

IMO he will be missed. Sadly, newspapers are becoming a thing of the past. I read the paper every day but I'm a fraid I'm in the minority.

Final from tonight's game in Alexandria. Ryle started the game 15-0 and cruised from there. Starters played less than half the game.

I had a gut feeling about Boone. Since their loss to Ryle they have been on a mission, so to speak. I have seen all or part of their staff EVERY Ryle game since then. It should be another monumental battle next week, if they both take care of business next Tuesday.

She probably did play longer than I remember. When I was in school, Newport was a big school. They may have started their Varsity Girls team before Beechwood . Anyway, congratulations to Sydney for her accomplishments and for her being included with these great former NKY Stars.

My memory isn't perfect, I'll have to ask her the next time I see her. I know at my school (Beechwood) The girls did not have a team until the 74-75 season.

Tee,hee, my wife was wrong. She played the 74-75 season and the 75-76 season.

I knew of her, of course, but never saw her play.

They are wrong on her years. Kentucky High School girls did not start back up until 1975.

Kentucky Girls High School Basketball was stopped after the 1932 season and did not resume until the 1975 season. Donna's High School Stats are for 2 years.

After Friday's game at Campbell , Ryle will get to rest their legs and get ready for the Districts on Tuesday. 4 games in 5 days takes it's toll on these young ladies.

I'm not at all familiar with SH's gym or atmosphere, I was just taking a chance that Boone may get up early and suprise them. I always like seeing our teams play the perennial "Top Teams", and I love when we beat them:)

My wife just informed me that Donna Murphy played 3 years, 1974-1976.

Donna and I were friends in high School and remain friends today. She was the best girls player in High School I have ever watched. Having said that, I missed Walz's career. Jackie Bearden was a joy to watch, as well.

Ryle moves to 21-5 on the season with a hard fought win at Notre Dame on Senior Night. Ryle was led by Jump with 15, Cheeseman with 14 and Crittendon with 13 and 10 rebounds. Notre Dame was led by Schilling with 24 points.

I know that Jamie Walz played with the 3 point shot and I believe she played varsity 6 years. Jackie Bearden played before the 3, not sure with Klette.. Donna Murphy may have only played 2 years of Varsity because she graduated in 1976. Girls basketball was a varisty sport starting in the 74-75 season, I believe. Have to do a little more research.

I know they beat my Lady Raiders in Lexington over the Holidays in a game that could have gone either way. I'm going with Boone in a minor upset.

Should be a great game between Bluegrass Preps #6 team in the State visiting the #3 team.
