  1. Tip off in about 10 minutes. Series since Coach Goetz became head coach: HC leads 4-1 Last four contests: 2007 - HC 62-36 2008 - HC 62-52 2009 - HC 38-36 2010 - Ryle 52-31 The only guarantee I will make for tonight is that the halftime score will not be 9-6 as it was in 2009.
  2. If it is anything like the computer rankings that we all here about in sports media, you probably need a degree from MIT to figure it out.
  3. KHSAA's website may be listing him as a sophomore (which he is), but when you go to the scores site and click the link for the team's roster, he is listed as a freshman. It looks like they are listing players a year younger than they actually are. I know because I recently updated Holy Cross' Boys' Roster and Jalen Avery was listed as an 8th grader after I updated it.
  4. If you need our season totals entering that game and stats during the game, let me know. You know where I will be sitting. I'll be the one with the laptop and the big HP Printer.
  5. Notes: NCC had 18 offensive rebounds leading to 21 2nd Chance Points and were led by Hannah Thiem and Brittany Fryer with 7 rebounds apiece. Fryer also had five steals which led NCC who forced the Indians into 21 turnovers. 8. Christian County did beat Iroquois, they lost to three teams from out of state and two of their losses were in OT, one to Trinity.
  9. The staff at J-Town told me that the Eastern game is being played at Bellarmine to accomodate the number of fans they are expecting for that game. It should be a good one and I think J-Town will beat them again probably a closer margin, say five.
  10. I don't know how many of you have seen Jalen Avery at Covington Holy Cross, but he has to rank as one of the top freshmen in the 9th region.
  11. Ryle visits the Msgr. Finn Activity Center on Tuesday night. Who will win?
  12. With the exception of their wins over Eastern and Memphis East, Jeffersontown has beaten everyone they have played by at least 16 points, so their results in their own tournament were not surprising. The field was pretty good with Middletown OH, Bryan Station, Western, Woodland Hills PA and North Oldham. The first and third days of the tournament had some pretty competitive games (the Jeffersontown results not withstanding) including three that went into overtime. I am not comparing it to Lloyd's torunament since I was not there, but the Gaslight had some good competition.
