I really hope we aren't down to "levels" of taunting, 1 or 2 people or a section. Either way it exists everywhere and no school is free from guilt.

I would agree 100% with you. I think it has no place and should be addressed. Unfortunately it is true of all 3 schools in OC because of the bitter rivalries. Not an excuse but an explanation. Trimbles kids are awesome and fantastic senior role models. I would think that Coach Lauster would confirm that exactly that was told to him after the game. Much respect for the Raiders, a team that fought hard and to the end.

I can tell you that kids are kids and when you get a South (crestwood) fan talking about kids comments that is the pot calling the kettle black. These are the fans that used a school issue with a coach 4 years ago to blister a cheerleader to the point of breaking down and crying then running out of the gym. ANY cheering section is going to say bad things, that is no question and North is just as guilty of it. I would look at the South vs. North game this year and say that the "Three %$^$ chump" cry from the stands was one of the most ridiculous things ever said to a player. They said so many things that were rude to players it is ridiculous, but you don't see us complain. It is part of the game. North has some fans that are radical and say things they shouldn't, but I can tell you they are more passionate and driven for their school than South. Evident by the 2x or more kids we had @ South for our first game. Let's not get on our moral high horse and point to anyones community spirit because it isn't just North on the top of a mountain saying things to players.

South is likely the better team, but the operative issue is made threes, they haven't shot the ball well the majority of the year and I am sure Coach Forrest spent the late part of the evening with his wrench tightening the rims up. I see it as a tough spot for the Dragons with it being the potential final game for Dunlap and if rumors are correct Gary Forrest. You don't see Oldham out of the regional tournament often and it is even more rare back to back years considering they will be playing at home with those two's possible emotional final chance. Add to that the refs who will give South NOTHING and I see it as Oldham 67 - South 60. Best of luck to both though.

North took the game for 1 reason and 1 reason only. Too play a top 2 team in a region, on the road, in a hostile environment to simulate a regional game and try to play a team that is likely better than us, but it turned out to not be a basketball game. Unfortunate for both teams. Crestwood is always happy when the Mustangs lose. Shocking.

Great comment as well as the comment by Mike. In hindsight it was just hard to understand and it is good to hear an Adair fan say they did miss a lot of calls because they did and made a few too many the other way. Look at my earlier posts. Not sure we would've beaten them full strength, but can tell you that game was embarrassing from a foul standpoint.

Make no mistake, with 2 starters and their 6th man out there is very little chance to win and with them it would be a good game, but that doesn't excuse anything. What does it say that the 2 leading scorers on North had 2 fouls 3 minutes in both with 1 "charge/block" call and the other hand checks. What it says is the refs read the scouting report. I would never dream of making this accusation if it didn't have overwhelming numbers. How do you explain all of that? Aggressiveness, bad play, perfect play by them? How does a team have 7 fouls in the first 2:10 of the 3rd quarter or so and the other have 5 when the buzzer goes off? How does 1 team shoot more free throws in the first 1:40 of the game then the other shot in the entire game, how does one team have both of their leading scorers with 4 fouls in the first 3 minutes of the 3rd and 2 in the first quarter? 46-3, not 16-3, not 26-3, 46-3, I have been around basketball for a long time and NEVER seen that, ever. How is it possible that you could as a team look at a 34 point loss and say that the free throw differential was more than that, oh, almost 10 points more than that potentially. Those things don't add up. Give them credit, they are a nice team, but even those kids didn't get justice that night. They did get a lot of free throw work in though. Just as an aside it was interesting that when we walked in the gym we were told by and Adair County fan to be careful with one of the referees, he is an Adair County guy, he will screw you, just know it now AND he will T your coaches up and throw them out. This was a conversation before the game and he was actually not as bad as the other 2 that night. As for your comment on Jordan and Lebron I think you know that meant it didn't matter who was playing, no calls were going that teams way and it would seem you would realize that 40-41 is easy to do if you have that kind of advantage. 46-3, the worst teams in the state can win 40-41 that way.

Was typing on my hand held before and couldn't put everything I was thinking. More info on this ridiculous display last night. North actually led for the first few minutes of the first quarter, but trailed 24-13 after 1 quarter. North was missing 2 starters regular (Watson and Menefee) as well as there top inside reserve (6'6" Freshman Devon Rowan) Adair County shot 46 free throws to Norths 3. No typo forty six to three. Fouls in the second half were 22-5 and for the game 35-12. They kept the top 2 scorers (St. Julian and Foley) in foul trouble the whole night and on the bench while having a parade to the foul line. I can only imagine that the comment above "couple of calls didn't go their way" they were referring to the 14 fouls called against North in the 3rd quarter. Adair County was in the bonus at the 5:45 mark of the third and the double bonus at the 4:17 mark and shot 19 free throws in the third. Teams that are outside the 5th region beware of playing in that location. You will not even come close to getting a fair shake. Anybody can take losing, but to have to sit and watch that display last night was ridiculous. The interesting part about it was their crowd on our side started to question it as well.

Not sure what game this person was watching. It's North Oldham, they led 6-3 and Foley had 12. That post wasn't saying they should be in the top 25. It was in response to them not even deserving discussion. Points above are value but Marshall they had an 18 point lead and the Muhlenberg game was simply a bad day for that team. Henderson @ OC is no advantage. No team they have lost to is lower than 2nd in their region. ALL big games have been away from home as well.

I can say that this comment is wrong. North Oldham isn't pushing the top 10 due to being a school that has only been around 6 years, not because they aren't good enough. North had one bad game all year to a top 15 team and the other losses have all been on the road and to very good teams. (@ Ballard by 10 in a game that was tied late, by 9 to Henderson County @ Oldham County in a game tied with 2:00 left, by 7 to Owensboro in a game they led with 4 minutes to go, by 2 @ Anderson County in a game they led by 10 with 6:00 left and by 3 @ Bullitt East in a game that saw Bullitt East shoot 35 homer free throws to North's 15) North Oldham is ranked 2nd or 3rd in the state in scoring and has a lot of guns. For a program that is only 6 years old they have come a long way, but is definitely not in the "inner circle" of teams that are always in the top 25. That won't happen for them if they are 15-0 because people don't know nor respect their program. The only thing this program doesn't have is a storied name that keeps them in the discussion every year. They may well be playing in Rupp this year, but even then likely won't get any respect. To say they don't belong in the discussion is total nonsense. They only don't if you continue to base all thoughts on teams on history and tradition versus their play. North has been in every game above and you need only to ask Coach Renner at Ballard his thoughts. They were in a dog fight on opening night and if that game isn't at Ballard then North Oldham has a win versus a top 10 team.
