Tough night for Oldham Co, they had cpl of boys out with injury and some calls didnt go thier way. The Indains jump out to a 17-1 lead and was up 44-24 at the half.

Not sure what game this person was watching. It's North Oldham, they led 6-3 and Foley had 12. North was missing 2 starters and 6'6" freshman Devon Rowan BUT the couldve had Michael Jordan and Lebron James and not won that game.

 

In one of the most embarassing "welcome to good ole boy referreeing" Adair County shot 46 free throws to Norths 3. No typo forty six to three. Fouls in the second half were 22-5 and for the game 35-11.

 

Easy to win 41 of 42 at home like that.

 

Absolutely embarassing

Was typing on my hand held before and couldn't put everything I was thinking. More info on this ridiculous display last night.

 

North actually led for the first few minutes of the first quarter, but trailed 24-13 after 1 quarter.

 

North was missing 2 starters regular (Watson and Menefee) as well as there top inside reserve (6'6" Freshman Devon Rowan)

 

Adair County shot 46 free throws to Norths 3. No typo forty six to three. Fouls in the second half were 22-5 and for the game 35-12. They kept the top 2 scorers (St. Julian and Foley) in foul trouble the whole night and on the bench while having a parade to the foul line. I can only imagine that the comment above "couple of calls didn't go their way" they were referring to the 14 fouls called against North in the 3rd quarter. Adair County was in the bonus at the 5:45 mark of the third and the double bonus at the 4:17 mark and shot 19 free throws in the third.

 

Teams that are outside the 5th region beware of playing in that location. You will not even come close to getting a fair shake. Anybody can take losing, but to have to sit and watch that display last night was ridiculous. The interesting part about it was their crowd on our side started to question it as well.

Why did the 2 starters and top reserve not play. If by injury, how long will they be out?

The team that played Adair Co was North Oldham, not Oldham Co, per the other NO posters in this thread.

It's hard to believe a fan could down a school after watching one game at a particular location. Adair County is 42-1 at home for more than one reason. This is a really good team. These young men hold their own good or bad calls. Remember this is high school basketball not the NBA as you were refering to Lebron James and Michael Jordon could not have won that game. Do you think maybe North Oldham maybe just got dominated. I think the score was 81-47. So just how many bad calls is that?

Make no mistake, with 2 starters and their 6th man out there is very little chance to win and with them it would be a good game, but that doesn't excuse anything. What does it say that the 2 leading scorers on North had 2 fouls 3 minutes in both with 1 "charge/block" call and the other hand checks. What it says is the refs read the scouting report. I would never dream of making this accusation if it didn't have overwhelming numbers. How do you explain all of that? Aggressiveness, bad play, perfect play by them? How does a team have 7 fouls in the first 2:10 of the 3rd quarter or so and the other have 5 when the buzzer goes off? How does 1 team shoot more free throws in the first 1:40 of the game then the other shot in the entire game, how does one team have both of their leading scorers with 4 fouls in the first 3 minutes of the 3rd and 2 in the first quarter? 46-3, not 16-3, not 26-3, 46-3, I have been around basketball for a long time and NEVER seen that, ever. How is it possible that you could as a team look at a 34 point loss and say that the free throw differential was more than that, oh, almost 10 points more than that potentially. Those things don't add up.

 

Give them credit, they are a nice team, but even those kids didn't get justice that night. They did get a lot of free throw work in though. Just as an aside it was interesting that when we walked in the gym we were told by and Adair County fan to be careful with one of the referees, he is an Adair County guy, he will screw you, just know it now AND he will T your coaches up and throw them out. This was a conversation before the game and he was actually not as bad as the other 2 that night.

 

As for your comment on Jordan and Lebron I think you know that meant it didn't matter who was playing, no calls were going that teams way and it would seem you would realize that 40-41 is easy to do if you have that kind of advantage. 46-3, the worst teams in the state can win 40-41 that way.

Don't add them to your schedule as a late minute add on if you haven't done your homework ..starters out, tough place to play....:banana:

You know, I don't have a dog in this fight - and I wasn't at the game - but I will make this simple point:

 

I've been broadcasting HS basketball since 1979. This is my 29th season. A rough guesstimate would be that I've broadcast around 1,000 ballgames. I've seen everything, it seems. A few years back, I broadcast back-to-back ballgames that set - and then re-set - the record for the most FTs shot by two teams in a game. And I've seen games when it seemed like "no blood, no foul" was truly how the refs viewed fouls.

 

But in all of those games, I've NEVER seen a high school varsity game, boys or girls, in which one team shot only three free throws. Regardless of how many Adair shot, the number that North shot boggles the mind.

What is Adair County's best win this year I saw them play once and that was the opening round of the Republic Bank Holiday Classic so not sure if thats a good gage to go by for them.

Honestly Adair Co doesnt have any real impressive wins this year. Taylor Co a district rival is proabley the best team we have beaten. We beat Jon Hoods Madisonville team, but they have a losing record, Louisville Central who is better than they record, Allen Co Scottsville none of these teams ranked. This North Oldham game was been our biggest margin of victory, but you cant really count this game they had players out and the Ref did miss alot of calls against N. Oldham. I hate that it happen, but it was all thier own (ref) doing coach Fudge or the team (AC) did have anything to do with that. If we had different Refs calling the game better, Adair County would still shoot alot more freethrows but the game would have been closer. North Oldham's coaches filed a complaint if they thought it cost them the game, and proabley should have anyway.

Great comment as well as the comment by Mike. In hindsight it was just hard to understand and it is good to hear an Adair fan say they did miss a lot of calls because they did and made a few too many the other way. Look at my earlier posts. Not sure we would've beaten them full strength, but can tell you that game was embarrassing from a foul standpoint.
