  1. Ram & Cognito.. please check your facts before making posts. Keeton was ejected from the Greenup Co. game, and did not play against Ashland per KHSAA rules. She WAS NOT suspended from any other games related to the GC incident. One ejection and two Ts in the last 10 games, not five. Any one who has watched her play knows she is not selfish on the floor. Are we really attempting to blame 14 losses on one player who occassionally got frustrated? You want accountability.. why aren't the coaches accountable?
  2. Where were you sitting Ram? Even some of the Russell folk thought the T was a little much. Besides, Keeton's intensity on the court is one of her assets.. and intense players, male and female, get fired up sometimes. And as for coaches, very class-less on the Ram side to accuse the young Lady Rams of not playing team ball in the newspaper Aspects of team ball are ingrained in practice; communication on the floor, court awareness, help defense, passing and assists. Coaches should take responsibility for their own inadequacies and not make young girls the scapegoats. Congrats to the Lady Devils.. they played hard and deserved to win. Good luck against Lewis.
  3. To say Raceland has struggled lately is not accurate. They have struggled all season, primarialy because of a dire lack of fundamentals, an absurdly ineffective press, and an outrageous offense that keeps their six-footers on the perimeter, away from the blocks. But the Lady Rams do have strengths: Brooke Wilson, due to her own fortitude and talent, has developed into one of the top guards in the area, Clark and Lacks consistently contribute, and given the right offense, Twin Towers Keeton and Lewis could score 50 points a game. Russell is a young but much improved team with great talent. Kelsey Simpson is by far the best all-around athlete in the area, and Parsley, Ferguson and Fortman know basketball. THESE TWO TEAMS ARE EVEN AS FAR AS TALENT; COACHING DECIDES TONIGHT'S GAME.
  4. OK, Big Tee, there are two big girls for Raceland and from your previous remarks I am sure I know which one you are accusing of being out of shape. Perhaps, if this BIG GIRL wasn't spending so much time on the point on the press and taking the ball out of bounds, and then running back down the court to post up, she wouldn't appear out of shape to the novice eye. There is a lot more to basketball than scoring points, and the Big Girl in question does a great deal; assists, steals, intimidating defense. I hope in time Raceland learns to utilize the true athleticism they have.
  5. Ashland nor Rowan played their best games first half. Rowan played with great intensity, Ashland had a few crucial lapses of focus. Lady Vikings shut down Ashland's outside shooting but had no answer for Conner inside. Coach Bradley coached a good game, didn't press, stayed in the zone, and utilized his big girls underneath. A rematch of these two teams will be much closer.
