Raceland will be facing Russell in the first round of the 63rd district tournament on Feb 23rd at Raceland. What are everyones thoughts on this one?

The Lady Rams have been slumping as of late but are capable of playing some good basketball. I'll take Raceland in this one.

They certainly are capable, the Lady Rams couod essily lose to Russell in the opener and they also have the capability to win the district along with possibly make some noise in the region depending on the draw. Coach Trimble imo will have the girls ready to play, he is one of the very best coaches in the 16th region.

I say Russell in a close one. Raceland seems to be struggling lately and Russell's players seem to be figuring out their roles better on the court. But, whoever wins, I think it will be a good one!

Two days untill the district and Russell Lady Rams. Get focused and stay focused on the "Team" goal of beating Russell and advancing to the district final.

I can only repeat the most repeated line in sports Lady Rams........."One Game at a Time".

I think Keeton and Lewis will have their hands full with Parsley and Simpson. Imo it will come down to turnovers. The Lady Rams will have to take care of the ball if they are to win.

To say Raceland has struggled lately is not accurate. They have struggled all season, primarialy because of a dire lack of fundamentals, an absurdly ineffective press, and an outrageous offense that keeps their six-footers on the perimeter, away from the blocks.

 

But the Lady Rams do have strengths: Brooke Wilson, due to her own fortitude and talent, has developed into one of the top guards in the area, Clark and Lacks consistently contribute, and given the right offense, Twin Towers Keeton and Lewis could score 50 points a game.

 

Russell is a young but much improved team with great talent. Kelsey Simpson is by far the best all-around athlete in the area, and Parsley, Ferguson and Fortman know basketball.

 

THESE TWO TEAMS ARE EVEN AS FAR AS TALENT; COACHING DECIDES TONIGHT'S GAME.

I will take the Lady Devils in a tight one for one reason: Kelsey Simpson.
