Recruiting is not the be all end all of coaching basketball games. It is my personal opinion (and it is shared by many) that Billy Gillispie is a better recruiter then Tom Crean. I AGREE with everything you said above...
Something like that. I know he heard a story about a woman who was trying to pay for a funeral for her dad or something and he sent her a check to pay for it.
Then there was this...
Coach G has been very generous to local charities and has been very respectful every time I have seen the man in public. I think he receives the fandom well and appreciates the passion of the UK faithful. We may have some struggles on the court sometimes, but off the court he has been nothing but receptive to the UK and Lexington communities.
Alright, i'm tired of fighting with you. It's clear to me that i'm not changing your mind, and you definitely aint changing mine. Can we both agree that these 2 guys can both recruit good players to come play for them, and they both are going to recruit even better with the school name on the front of the jersey. I think they will both do well at their respective institutions, and the UK IU rivalry will heat up in the near future.

What does "working out" have to do with landing a big time recruit??? I know it is more important to have a good player on your team that works out, I know that's what Crean and Gillispie want, but I also know that beating out Michigan, Kansas, and UCLA for a basketball player is more impressive and shows more recruiting ability then landing a guy who only has 1 chance to go to school for free and play basketball.
I know, but isn't it a little bit easier to land a low profile guy like Steve Novak (1 scholly offer) then it is to land a guy like Legion who had offers from Michigan, Kansas, and UCLA????
Roll your eyes all you want to, it's "clear" that Gillispie is a much better recruiter then Tom Crean. Coaching i'm not sure, but recruiting, it's a landslide in favor of Billy G.
Was Wade really that big of a coup when he committed??? Please, give me a Tom Crean list...None of the guys on my list were below "four star" according to rivals...
DeAndre Jordan, Patterson, Orton, Hood, Ferguson, Jones, D. Williams, D. Brown, A. Legion, D. Miller, D. Liggins, Filiberto Rivera...On and on and on...
