  1. Who were the "Names" that applied for the job? None of the coaches I suspected/hoped even applied for the position. I think everyone wants experience but these days experience tells coaches to stay away from some jobs. I wish Justin goodluck, he has a lot to do.
  2. This surprises me, I thought they would let the new principal make the decision.
  3. I think they are waiting to see about teaching vacancies.
  4. The bashing Hundley comment is ridiculous. I've known him most of his life. I thought it awkward of him to apply to coach a school that he left. As far as Hundley getting the best of me, I could have taken him, he was 6 when I played in high school.
  5. It just seemed that way. If that is the situation you have, I would stay too, goodluck.
  6. Support is not the issue, it is rather an inability to build a program that can remain competetive. I do think that the Hundley mention is a laugher, after all he left the program to go to Scott Co. Sorry, I forgot his dad just wanted to live a dream of a home on a golf course.
  7. Same old song, different record. If you alienate the wrong group, you lose your job. There is a lot of work to be done at Dunbar. The question is will a coach get enough time?
  8. I believe that is a no-no. Especially for kids that are currently in grades 9-12.If you are on the staff you should stay in the stands until school is out.
  9. He was asked to move on. They are trying to keep the reasons why on the downlow. Not your usual circumstances.
  10. I believe that the paper said he thought that it was time not that he was pressured to resign.
  11. Houchen Industries requested that the tournament be played in their backyard, I have no probem with that it may not be as centralized as some might like but they did save the tournament. Plus the community makes it worth the travel time.
  12. Not only do you have a district with no weaknesses but as every coach in Fayette Co. knows you have to teach a full load.
  13. I agree with some good players not having the stats due to their unselfishness but Polson is unselfish and stat producing. Where I can't agree is that with West's opponents for 2 years have focused game plans on stopping him and yet they still haven't.
  14. I agree that there are bigger names with better "pedigrees" and those are two of them but I think if Norman wouldn't have gone through the craziness we would be speaking of him differently now. It was originally my opinion that Dunbar needed someone that could bring the pieces back together. To get the former players involved, I think he would have that ability above anyone else.
  15. A product of BGP should be to get to the real story. "Raw deal" is an understatement. Why do you think Chalk left the success? Norman walked into a situation he didn't deserve. He did in spite of the craziness produce a good basketball team that lost on a tip-in in the All A regional and finally won a game in the 11th region tournament. He is a very good person and a hard worker. The kids that played for him are crazy about him. He is a different person, focuses entirely on the kids and not politics and that has been his downfall. As far as the "pedigree" comment he was an assistant at Simon Kenton from 91 - 96 under Trame, they went to the state in 95. Then he was at Dunbar 97 -2003. Coached under Watson and Oakley. At Frankfort he worked with Gary Moore for a short period. That's a pretty good pedigree to which I believe all have been to a state tournament. I just hope if he wants it he gets an opportunity.
  16. You evidently didn't pay much attention to the incident. It has been an embarassment to Frankfort ever since. If you had you would have learned why he was dismissed. 1) Didn't support the girls enough, (He just let them come to weightlift and open gym because they didn't do anything.) 2) Let them wear black uniforms in a KOB game, 3) Wouldn't get rid of an "at risk" player 4) Game decisions in a 9-4 season. His first year they went to the regional semis and lost to Lafayette, who then went to the state. Not sure where your "Lack of Control" was, must have been #5. Those of us that did educate ourselves about the situation know how ridiculous this was, the superintendent fired everyone but the football coach until she was finally let go. He is back at Frankfort now working for a friend, who happens to be the AD that was let go. He is coaching middle school and I believe building the program that he said he would in 2003 and had there first successful seasons in a while. Believe me Frankfort doesn't want to lose him again.
  17. He was an assistant under Watson and Oakley from 97 - 2003. Freshman under Watson and JV under Oakley. He took the Head Coaching position at Frankfort in 2003.
  18. I would go with Norman at Frankfort. He was a longtime assistant at Dunbar, he knows about the school, its feeders, and can get former players involved in the rebuilding process. There are a lot of great players that need to get back in that gym again.
  19. Great players are never hurt by being on strong teams, they still find a way to stand out. Polson is not just a great player he is a once in a coaches lifetime. Complete on and off the court. He is the type of player that has made the mid majors so competetive in recent years.
  20. Why haven't the last 2 coaches even coached their first graduating class? Wow just think how good some hall of famers like Bobby Keith could have been if they had a website!
  21. Sorry to rattle the Scott Hundley fan club. I'm just not privy to how much players and assistants are involved in organizing the youth programs, basketball camps, summer ball, scheduling, planning, and lets not forget booster/parents. That's what the new coach at Woodford needs to be able to do. Woodford has been taking chances for too long. If he has the ability to do these things better than others then he should be hired.
