  1. I have to respect a big guy who can make free throws. It makes him twice as dangerous.
  2. I will agree with you about inside play, but that is only one part of the game. Stauffer CAN shoot the ball and passes extremely well out the high post. Hodges will do something that Thelan refuses to do and that is play defense. IMO I take either one of them over Thelan in an overall comparison.
  3. He is one of the stronger players for Conner. He has a larger (not taller)frame than Hodges, but don't expect any dunks from him. He's solid, but he is only a sophmore.
  4. DOes anyone know what station will be broadcasting the games?
  5. I'm not sure I agree that he is the best all around sophmore in NKY. I do agree that he will gain alot of attention being on the Holmes team. There are several big sophmores in NKY wih a good inside/ outside game.
  6. Hodges is stricly a defensive player. He leads the region in blocked shots. Robinson will bang down low and score on bigger guys. Conner is solid inside and out. This should be a fun game.
  7. I agree. I think Stauffer at Ryle and Hodges at Conner both come in ahead of of Thelan in NKY.
  8. Trammel is the sophmore. Isn't he the youngest of the three?
  9. I'll give Boone the 2nd. spot, but I think the gap between 1st. and 2nd. is bigger than 2nd. and 3rd. Ryle and Conner can both beat Boone on any given night. Last night's game was alot closer than the score reflected.
  10. Aaron Stephens - JR Chris Lang - SR Demetrius Avery - JR Jeremy Broyles - SR Tyler Hodges - SO
  11. Conner actually lost several players that could have played this year from last year's team. They are playing with three sophmores in rotation that didn't see much if any varsity last year. Coach Hicks has them playing extremely well. One of their better guards is even out with an injury.
  12. This will be a fun game. Boone should get he win, but do not underestimate the Conner team. They play extremely well together. I am saying Boone by less than 5.
  13. Conner versus Boone This Friday at Boone. both teams are 3-0.
  14. Ryle 75, Cooper 17 Cooper (0-3) - Hare 1 0 2, Ramey 1 1 3, Hoffman 1 0 2, Thompson 1 0 2, Bradley 3 1 7, Schafer 0 1 1. Totals: 7 3 17. Ryle (2-2) - Ahearn 4 1 10, Lamping 1 0 2, Russell 4 0 8, Willoughby 2 0 4, Coleman 1 0 2, McLeish 2 0 6, Nichols 2 2 6, Burtraw 2 0 4, Pinkston 2 0 4, Stauffer 7 0 14, Butts 2 0 5, Stinson 2 0 4, Perkins 1 2 4, Vollet 1 0 2. Totals: 33 5 75. Cooper 5 5 5 2 -17 Ryle 31 9 19 16 -75
  15. Cooper did it to themselves. They are the ones that did not score more points. Ryle could have scored 100 if they wanted. Cooper's situation is unfortunate, but you cannot tell your team to back off on D or not to score. You can go deeper in your bench, but as a coach you have to expect the same intensity out of every player who steps on the floor. That builds for the season. Coach Sullivan and Cooper would have been more embarrased if Ryle had taken it "easy" on them. IMO, that would be disrespectful. Cooper was beaten by alot, but they got Ryle's best.
  16. By mature I meant upper classmen with at least several years of JV experience. Conner started 2 seniors, 2 juniors, & 1 sophmore (who did not even play JV last year). They rotated 2 sophmores and 1 junior (all three were JV guys last year). CCH was by far the more mature team.
