  1. The two best overall guards the Bulldogs have are Trammel and Flesch. Fangman, Allen, and Barnett have some good intangiables. Whether it is shooting, defense, speed, or rebounding. The overall best player they have is Bobby Stauffer. Hodges is coming on strong and Todd Vollet and Jack Stewart really add depth. Those two are interchangebale at times given the lineup. It is ludacris to think that becasue a person is listed as a point guard or shooting guard or center on a website that you must play them in that fashion with a point, a shooter, a small forward ,a power forward, and a center. That is not how it works. In AAU basketball most of the players can play multiple positions. Players that cannot or have only one specialty are usually not as effective. Will Flesch and Trammel and Barnett play the same position for their high school? Absolutely, but not always in AAU. They will play where they are needed and to their strengths. That is what makes Flesch and Trammel so valuable becasue they have the right combination of scoring, ball handling, and defense.
  2. I will break this down. I agree that the DSAS team is loaded. Every player on this team ranks tops in the state. I don't think you can pack anymore talent on this team. The Shining Stars are a very good team. They don't have as much talent as the DSAS, but they play very well and they get it done. The Bulldogs are a very scary team. They are a couple of missed free throws from being a very good team. With the exception of a loss to Indiana Elite One by 11 and Shining Stars by 23, their margin of loss is 2 1/2 points. IMO I don't feel like this requires a roster change as much as a little developement. This team can play with anyone and is capable of beating anyone. They have the best talent in NKY. Notice the bold in NKY. They do not claim to have the best talent in the state or surrounding states, but what they will claim is that when you play them, you will get a game.
  3. This could have made some significant differences in bracket play. Especially where the ICE ended up. Unfortunate.
  4. I second that. This was a very well organized and nicely run tournament.
  5. Zach Barnett is from St. Henry. He has a really qucik release and runs the floor extremely well. At times he seems to have only one speed, but will continue to improve and will be a really good guard for St. Henry next year.
  6. Kudos to the Shining Star's bigs. I really thought this game would be decided on the perimeter.
  7. I agree these kids looked very well, but you cannot look past Jacob Flesch who scored double figures in all of their games including 18 against WKY. Todd Vollett from Ryle also plays extremely well.
  8. Conner will improve by having their true point guard Jacob Flesch back from injury. They will also need tog et Hodges stronger. He is 6'7" and can be extremely dangerous if he gets more physical. Avery and Stephens will need to be the nucleus of this team. They will have a great supporting cast with Robinson, Flesch, Hodges, & Liechty.
  9. As everyone already knows, bragging rights in the state of KY are on the line this weekend. The most talented players in the state will be playing. Before the hoopla becomes overwhelming, I wanted to take this opportunity to wish all of the teams, coaches, and players good luck this weekend. I hope that everyone has a competitive, but injury free experience at the KBA. Good luck to all,
  10. Does anyone have Blake's shooting percentage? I am not knocking him at all. I read about his amazingly high ppg and I am just curious as to how many shots he was taking per game and what percentage he made. If this kid is hitting 50 percent from behind the arc, it really doesn't matter who he plays agaisnt. He will score points.
  11. Thanks. I just saw that hte schedules have been changed accordingly.
  12. Has anyone confirmed if there will be two WKY Elite teams or was this a mistake?
  13. I beleive that is where Charlotte court is. They are listed as Lexington Blaze. Does anyone know who Kentucky Blast U16 is?
  14. I just peaked at the Adidas May Classic tournament and it is loaded this weekend. Unfortunate that it falls the same weekend as our state tournament. It looks like it would be fun.
  15. I saw them play at the Grassroots tournament and they had a nice team. I don't know what you get if you split them up. There is only one Josh Forrest.
  16. I'm predicting that WKY Elite will be tired after playing in two pools and loose to the Hoyas Elite.
  17. I do agree that the DSAS U16 should walk through this tournament. I bolded should because I am a firm believer that anything is possible and nothing is a given. All it would take is for the ICE to get hot (how ironic) and they could knock them off. It should be a fun weekend. I miss the days when there were 20 teams in the state tournament. Where are the Charlotte Court & Royal Family?
  18. Last year's 15U nationals was won by the Memphis Stallions.
  19. China Star. It is accross from Thomas Moore College. It is run by the same people who own Double Dragon in Erlanger. We like the China Star better. There is no buffet.
  20. I used to really love Don pablos, but I felt liek they changed. Then I liked El Coyote's and they went downhill. Are they even still open? Last weekend I went to a place at the Crestview Center and I can't remember the name, but thye had awesome salsa and the food was really good.
  21. I agree Holmes should be the favorite, but I think the gap is alot closer than it was last year and like you said, Boone gave them a scare last year. I think there wil leb a couple of other teams that may have give them a run for their money.
  22. I think there will be some surprises this year in the 9th. I am not ready to second Holmes and Highlands as the one and two.
