Well, actually I was aiming for November, you know, around Lex. Cath time, not to get ahead or anything, one game at a time;)

I would love to see us come in and just fire on all cylinders and give our starters an easy night, but this Whitley County team is nothing to be overlooked, they have gave us a game on more than one occasion, they are a very tough team, and I just don't look for us to just come in and torch them. Personally, I think it'll be a dog fight for this W, and I'm hoping that it is a good game to hopefully push both teams to the limits, for some experience in these fights until the last whistle for November;)

I think one of the others would be down also, just a matter of getting the other to agree, I'm sure we know which one this is:sssh:

:laugh: Is this why a 4A Bell Co. team beat a 6A team last year?:sssh: Onto the prediction, I'll take Bell in a close one, 24-20, Looking for Merrick to hopefully get the record out of the way, at home.

This one's nearly a week away, just wanted to see what everyones thoughts on this one are. I'm hoping the Bobcats can keep rolling against what looks to be a tough Whitley Co. team :fight:

I'm gonna pick HC in a route in this one, to much depth IMO. After a strong showing against LCC and a tough loss, they're comming out with something to prove.

Just finished listening to this one on the radio, and I must say, Zachery not only proved me wrong, but impressed greatly, and it looks like my original statement of this could be the most athletic Bell Co. team we've seen, could be true. Great job tonight by the Bobcats, looks like we're starting off on the right foot again :fight: Also, Greer had a great game, 170+ on 16 carries, very impressive.

I'm guessing everyone has headed out by now for this one, I wish I could have made the drive, cant wait to hear the results and stats on this one!

I wanna throw Bell Co. running back Spencer Greer's name in, second team all state last year I beleive, put up somewhere near 1,600 yards. Also I'd like to say Zack Lewis from Clay Clounty, great talent at QB.

No ha ha, I had the feeling someone was gonna think this. I've got a ton of respect for Zachery, I didn't in any way mean to hate on him, I personally think hes an absolutely incredible athlete, no disrespect intended at all. Just IMHO, I think the task of filling Kyle Nelsons shoes, in just one year is gonna be tough, I know Zachery has a ton of experience at the position (grade school, JV, limited varsity). I suppose I could have worded things differently, it's going to take time for the offense to click with Shawnta, most of the offensive starters have gotten used to Nelson and played with him for 2-3 years, and personally, I think there should have been a bit more of a competition for the QB spot between Madon and Zachery, not only due to the team having to make the transition, but also because Zachery is a huge receiving threat, and we will only have 1 returning starter on the outside, and I feel theres much more of a threat to go down the Field with both of them out there, like last year. But I stated before, I hope this offense clicks, because if so, it'll definitely be hard for any team to handle this year, Zachery is a big time play maker, but has been a bit careless with the ball, and id like to think it's the fact that he's been thrown in trailing with usually only a half to play in big games and it's just nerves getting to him, if thats the case, its a very good situation for us. Again, I apologize for any disrespect, it wasn't intended to be that way at all.

Also narrowly missed a 60 yarder, or very close to it, at Leslie County last year, with kicking up a ton of dirt, and a bad hold. As to the Bell offense, I'm just not completely sold that Zachery has the composure and provides the type of ball security Kyle Nelson brought to the bobcats last year, 11 TD passes, and no INT's, now 11 doesnt seem like alot I know, but for Bell County, thats a huge season for a QB:lol: Nelson also very rarely fumbled, I've seen Zachery fumble several times, scrimmages and games, in his performance against Lex Cath. last year, he had I beleive 3 turnovers alone, where Nelson had 0, not taking anythign away from Lex Cath, great defense, just IMO, I think Zachery needs to protect the ball better, if he does this, the Bell Co. offense has the potential to be one of the most explosive in the state, this is by far one of the most athletic Bell Co. teams we have possibly ever had.

I'm gonna take Bell. Going from other predictions, I'll take the score to be in the neighborhood of 28 or 21-7. I'm not completely sold on this Bell Co. offense or Zachery's decision making at QB yet, I hope I can be proven wrong, but until then, I'll take this to be the score.

I'm not familiar with Garrard Co., any thoughts and predictions on this one? Good luck to both teams Friday night :thumb:

:eek: Sorry about that, huge mistake on my part. I was thinking Middlesboro was classified 3A with the re-alignment, my mistake, sorry. The point I was trying to get across, for someone to say that Bell Co. "picks on" smaller schools or to insinuate that we think we are superior or have more athletes than smaller schools is absurd. Never once have I personally heard coach Hilton say Bell Co. is the most athletic school in the area, or that we have more athletes than smaller schools, nor have I heard many Bell Co. fans say this. Coach Hilton himself on several occasions has said that the Bobcats aren't ever the most athletically gifted players in the state, not the fastest, strongest, and doesn't have the futures in football other athletes do, just that Bell Co. plays with heart and pride, and leaves everything on the field. It's not about who has the most athletes, its a team effort. I have never heard, or seen anyone associated with the Bell Co. team say that smaller schools have no athletes. No idea where this came from. But, back onto subject, the JC scrimmage, don't read to much into this. Bell Co. does NOT take scrimmages as serious as other teams, coach Hilton by any means doesn't want his players to end up seriously injured in a meaningless game, I stated before this took place, not to expect to see whats in the Bell Co. arsenal, and firmly believe that we didn't reveal to much of what we have.

Their is only I beleive 11 Soph. on the roster who played last year, there was a couple additions over summer, so I cant be sure about them, but of the 11 to my knowledge, only 4 of them have been held back. One of them is a full time starter, one is a player that gets significant playing time, the others start JV.

Let's dig the whole deeper:sssh:. Can you please elaborate for us, just who these starters that are hold backs are? if my memory is serving me correctly, theres not many at all that are hold backs. and if you honestly want to get into this discussion, what school doesn't have some kids whose stayed in grade school an extra year in their starting line up? and by saying larger schools, more athletes, Belfry has been a 2A school up until last year, IMO they've had some incredible athletes, probably more than Bell Co. it's just that coach Hilton always gets the absolute most out of his boys. Also, sir, Bell County isn't that much of a larger school than Middlesboro, the Jackets probably should be border line 4A, and to push facts further, I've never once heard Bell County players, coaches, or fans say teams have no talented athletes, so this leads me to believe, their actually was a Bell County T-shirt thats coming to mind right now, stating, I believe, "Don't hate us, cause you 'Ain't us":sssh:

This seems to be getting a little out of hand. I have no comments on any of this..just, name dropping doesn't mean that you know what your talking about when it comes to Bell-Middlesboro, I've stated this before, personally, I'd love to see these two hook up, and see how Bell would handle an athlete like Adams, but I don't think Middlesboro really wants any of Bell Co. at this point. Also, I don't remember any "moaning" or "groaning" about Lex. Cath..please elaborate? I know the fact that they had more seniors, then we had players was a cause for concern for us, but I remember the Bell Co. and Lexington Catholic game, and comments on BGP about the game, as being respectful, and no hard feelings from either side, At least that's how things were from my perspective.:thumb:

I completely agree. This is in no way any reason for Bell Co. fans, or Bell Co. haters to think that this team is in any kind of early trouble at all, as I have stated earlier, its a scrimmage, we wont see what both teams have. The exact same talk was coming from Middlesboro fans a few years back, our first year without Shawn Robbins when we scrimmaged Harlan Ind. in the Grid game, and won 14-7, and of course made our usual deep run into the playoffs. I would love to see Bell-Middlesboro this year, I think it'd be a great game, no 60 point blowout, as was the last two Bell-Middlesboro meetings:sssh: But a fun one to watch. Also, I'm interested to see how Zachery did at QB, any word from anyone?

I agree, Bell Co. will definately miss the leadership and composure Kyle Nelson brought onto the feild, biggest loss the bobcats has suffered in quite some time, IMO. Also, you will see Greer on D occasionally, big game situations mostly, at corner and LB. I wouldnt go as far as saying he's the best athlete on the team, no doubt hes a great athlete, my vote would go towards Matt Raines as the best pure athlete. How did Zachery do at QB?

Casey, you seem to be close to the KC program, could you tell me if Jake Slusher is still playing? The reason I ask, I watched him play for Bell middle, and he was extremely fast to be an 8th grader, and was just wondering if he was still with the KC program and if he's doing alright there?

I'm not sure about this. I'd love to see the outcome of it, but I'm sure neither team will really reveal much of what their offenses have in the arsenal, nor do I personally think the starters will be in for over a half of this one.

Question for the people close to the Knox Central program, is Jake Slusher still playing?

I spoke to a Bell Co. coach today, he confirmed this is supposed to be a game type scrimmage, keeping scores and everything. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused, hope this is a good one for those attending.

Question, is this just a scrimmage, an incredibly, and increasingly confusing scrimmage, or is this the annual panorama the local teams usually compete in?

My initial guess, it will most likely be similar to last years. I'm not sure on the number of plays, I'm guessing 15-25 plays for each offense, and defense, possibly a couple special teams plays and thats it. Last year they didn't even run the full field, coaches stood around in circles calling the plays, only ran around 50-65 yards through the majority of it I believe. Definitely not worth the drive, but I'd love to see it in the regular season:thumb:
