As many of you know the King of the Bluegrass Holiday Classic is December 18, 19, 21,22,23, 2015. The day off, Sunday December 20th is no longer a day off !!! We now have a King of the Bluegrass OVERTIME. V. J. King signed with the University of Louisville tonight and we are bring his school, Paul VI Catholic High School to Fairdale High School for one game against Lexington Bryan Station. The game will be at 4:00 pm…tickets will be $10. For all you CAT fans, Miami Senior High, with 7' 1" Zack Brown, a junior, will be playing his first game on December 19…times and bracket will be out late next week. Kentucky has already offer him a scholarship…but so has Duke, North carolina and many more big time programs. So Cat fans come out and show him how much you want him to play in Rupp Arena.

By the way Perry Co. Central was in the KOB…they requested we let them out of thier contract. Ask the coaches at Apollo and PCC what the problem is, I have talked for hours with both since last March about what might happen. I am 71 years old and the word is LOYALTY…it has nothing to do with the KOB. This is my last response.

Thanks WKY…that's just the answer I expected from his AAU coach. I bet his AAU coach doesn't live in Owensboro or have ties to Apollo. If he did he would encourage him to stay and lead his team to Rupp Arena and a change to wear a ring…then be Mr. Basketball.

The KOB invites good teams, great programs with great coaches…as I said they are still in the 2015 KOB unless they request to be out. Evidently some people don't understand how the "AAU system" really is for the Blue Chip players. Two words, AAU influence!

Yes, Apollo is in and they are still going to be a good team. They won't be the first nor the last to loose a player scheduled to attend the KOB. My point is AAU teams are the worst thing to happen to high school basketball. The HS game may not exist, as it was 10 years ago, in the next 10 years…or sooner.

How can he afford this? If it's free he is now a professional IMO.
