You speak of all these control problems Towles has but have you looked at his stats? In his last 3 outings he's compiled 21 k's going along with 4 BB and is 2-0. Sounds like a lot of control problems there....

This will be an action packed game tomorrow. The atmosphere will be more like a regional final game. These girls know each other well, (heck two of them are sisters) and several play most of the year together on the same AAU team. It's a shame one of them has to go. Whoever handles the pressure of the game will come out on top. Highlands seems to be pretty methodical in the way they play, they typically stick to their game plan, whereas NC seems to freelance a little more. I'm not really saying one way is better than the other just pointing out the difference in styles. Though in a tight game technique could prove to be very beneficial. The team that stays poised will win it.

Holmes took it to them. Highlands effort was not there, which is troubling considering it's tournament time. This game wasn't really close all night. Holmes has a very good team and if you dont come out and play them hard they'll beat you.

I've heard a lot of excuses on why teams didn't play well, but the set up of the gym??? Though it's has been a while since I've been at Highlands the last time I was there the goals appeared to be 10 feet tall and the floor appeared to be regulation size. It's no Rupp Arena, but its' set up doesn't affect the outcome of basketball games.

A coin flip indicates the odds are 50-50. Two wins over a 20-2 Conner team, a win over Boone and a win over Ryle at Ryle. Their only 9th region blemish is an overtime loss to Notre Dame in early January. Their only loss since Notre Dame was a loss to #6 ranked Montgomery County in which they lead going into the 4th quarter. Right now Conner and Highlands are clearly the cream of the crop in the 9th. To say the 9th region is a coin flip is perhaps wishful thinking.

I'm not sure how wide open it is Hamilton Joe. I think Highlands has to be considered a very strong front runner. Each Conner victory makes them look that much better.

I understand that Highlands and NCC will play each other in the opening round of the district tournament this year, WOW! Nothing like playing your championship game in the opening round.

Mason County's lack of defense is their Achilles heel. Highlands had a sophomore that scorched them for 24 points and was guarded by Chambers a significant part of the game. Montgomery County held the same sophomore to 11 or 12. Montgomery County simply plays superior defense. The margin of victory in this game will be between 10-15 points in favor of Montgomery County.

I have the same question about the 9th. How is Boone and Conner ranked above Highlands. I assume there is some formula for these rankings?

I dont think they thought they could show up. Their sophomore center Bekah Towles did not play, which would have have made a big difference. Still they didn't play very well.
