Now this is one tough region!

3.Lexington Christian 99.6

4.Lafayette 94.5

5.Henry Clay 93.5

Hands down the BEST region in the state!

I don't understand how Lexington Catholic is in front of Dunbar...

They have .5 more points.

True, but how?

True, but how?

I have the same question about the 9th. How is Boone and Conner ranked above Highlands. I assume there is some formula for these rankings?

LIT ratings are based on scoring margin, strength of schedule, and overall record....I may be mistaken but I do know that the first two criteria are correct. There was an old post somewhere where they gave an exact definition.

Seems to me that Highlands should be higher because they have beaten teams ahead of them. Doesn't really appear to work that way.

When you have two teams with losing records in the top 20 - it doesn't necessarily mean it is totally accurate. I don't see how that is possible.

I think NDA is ranked high because of who they have played. Assumption twice, Lexington Catholic, Montgomery County, Boone, Highlands, Conner, Simon Kenton. Boone has also played some really tough opponents. No one really knows how the formula works because it is a secret but we do know that it only calculates Ky games and a close loss against a top ranked team seems better than a blow out win of a weak opponent.

There is a formula based on who you play/beat. ND & BC have the toughest schedules in the 9th by far. I just looked at BC's schedule/results on the scoreboard (listed below). Also, ND's biggest competition has been from out-of-state so I don't think their biggest wins even count in the LIT ratings.

BC beat the #1 in the 3rd, 8th, and 9th regions (according to LIT). They also beat #2 in the 8th and #3 (Bullet East) in the 6th.

They also play or played the #1 in the 5th, 6th, 10th...and #2 in the 7th (twice)

My guess is both teams get some kind of credit for playing such tough schedules. Not to mention, if I read scoreboard correctly, BC has beaten 3 of the teams that Highlands lost to so I'm sure that is factored in somehow.

It seems to be a little like college football. Done by a computer and no one can really figure it out how it really works. I guess it's good rankings mean nothing.

Casey County is 17-1, just beat Hart County on the roadby 30 points. How is Casey County not rated high? Mercy (10-11) is # 20 in the state, this is a joke.

If you look the only L came in the 2nd game of the day on Dec 22, which was a 12 point game which ended up with Central shoting a lot of free throws at the end of the game. If I'm 0-17 and played the top 17 teams in the state does that mean I should be #18? Paul Dunbar and Marion County is the same way, with only one L.
