Both are very well coached and very well disciplined. I used to live in Paducah...and saw Mayfield several times. Trousdale is very likely the best conditioned team in TN. They do have size...and they do have good speed. They don't throw much...but when they do...they are successful. Trousdale is not in 1a this year. They moved up to 2a as TN went to 6 public classes. They are close in size to Mayfield.

I wouldn't say Alcoa is Tennessee's best...but they definitely could play with anyone. It will be intetesting to see how they do against county rival Maryville this week. They have lost about 7 in a row to them.

Trousdale has a good team...but they are nowhere near the 9th best team in Tennessee...nor is Milan.

Tennessee allows 8th graders to play for schools that are under the same principal. That usually includes very small publics and privates. Most schools have separate middle schools.

Maryville TN also lost in the 4a title game. They had won 74 straight.

Kayci Ferriss is a legitimate 6'8". She just scored her 1003rd point is this tournament. She is a soph and was a Miss Basketball finalist in her freshman year last year. She averaged 25 ppg 12 rb and 6 blocked shots despite being double and triple teamed all season.
