In the boys 10th, how can GRC be almost six points higher than Montgomery Co when Montgomery has already swept the two regular season meetings?

I will take MC by 5 points.

The same gentleman who told me about Clark Co and their girls said that Clark Co was not bringing their freshmen girls who play varsity, as the varsity and junior varsity play Saturday evening. He also indicated that all freshmen girls at Montgomery Co do play on their freshmen team. So from that alone would probably make them the "oldest" team in the tournament with the majority of schools using middle schoolers.

I don't know a favorite, but how many freshman teams actually play alot of freshman ladies on their teams? Someone told me at a Montgomery Co. game last week that Clark Co. only had two or maybe three freshman on their freshman team, as four of their freshman play varsity and don't play any freshman ball at all.

Any score on the game?

How is that possible?

Give Montgomery a slight advantage at home and they will win by about 3 points.

Sorry if in trying to make my point that it seemed I was implying that Geiman is not a good coach. She is an excellent coach as are all the others previously bing mentioned. My point was his record against some of the coaches that previously had been mentioned as "top" coaches in the 10th and that it least should have got him in the discussion. I am personally just a fan of basketball and do not want to bash anyone. As for Coach True's biggest win, I would say it came in the regular season a couple of years ago against Montgomery County. I don't know anything about his players and the respect issue you brought up.

It is a two horse race between Montgomery and Clark with Montgomery the favorite. They will play four times next year, 2x in district, district championship, and then regional final. Last year Clark won the first three and Montgomery won the one that counted. Montgomery has superior pitching at this point, but if Haggard (a freshman) and May (8th grader) come thru for Clark and keep improving, then come late May 2007, it could be a jim dandy championship game. Clark has every position player back from a 32-6 team last year that started three 8th graders (Collins, Haggard, and Williams)along with a freshman, Woosley. So win or lose this year, the future is bright for Clark.

I will concur with your comments. But since 2004-05, which is the year I based my comment on, what is the "so called top coaches" listed records against each other? As for regional championship, no school other than Montgomery has won since then. Also, could any other school have won the district championship against Montgomery. The 40th is by far the toughest district in the region and with Montgomery's talent in recent years, I don't care if your Pat Summitt you aren't going to be at them on any consistent basis. But Montgomery will eventually come back to the pack in the next two years and next to Mason Counties young talent, Clark has as much talent as anyone in the region.......... i.e the Roger sisters!

I definitely feel that Coach True from Clark County belongs on the list, as he always has team prepared with his constant scouting of opponents. Since 2004-05, he is 4-1 against Sosby(Bourbon), 3-0 against Cravens (Campbell), 1-0 against Geiman (Bishop Brossart), 3-3 against Brooks (Paris), but is 0-2 against Whitaker (Harrison).

2nd in 4th region preseason, and had the #1 player in Rainey and she scored i think 26 points. She was the only girl in double figures for Warren East, so sounds like a one girl team. As usual for Montgomery, a balanced attack!

Have to agree about the Montgomery Co. uniforms! They are horrible to the eyes.

Should be a great tournament as always. Several Top 25 teams in the field including E'Town, Boone Co, Sacred Heart, Mason Co, Manual, Montgomery Co, Assumption, Henry Clay and of course Lexington Catholic. A possible semifinal matchup in one side of the bracket could be Montgomery and Lexington Catholic. Any thoughts or predictions?
