I wonder which way they drove up. Google maps show it is 12 minutes quicker to take the Double AA vs taking 64 to 75 to get from Boyd County High School to CovCath. But I'm thinking buses would probably make better time on the interstate? If they were on 3L, I'm guessing they came up the Double A.

If Douglass beats Boyle and Ashland beats SK, I believe the Tomcats would have a chance to catch Boyle in RPI. It would be close. If they did, that would make Ashland the 1, Boyle the 2, Corbin the 3, and CovCath the 4. At that point, If it went chalk, that would mean a quarterfinal in Ashland instead of Danville for CovCath.

Big night! A Douglass win, an Ashland win, and a CovCath win could have some pretty big 4A bracket implications.

If the Colonels win the first round home game against Boyd County, CovCath would host the winner of Grant County at Johnson Central in the second round.

It could just be a faulty assumption. To be fair, they have a very good pregame show with taped interviews with both coaches. And the guy they interviewed about the virtues of a welding degree from the Maysville Community and Technical College sold me. Outstanding job.

Mason radio announcers said CovCath has players from Indiana and Ohio on the team. Good stuff.

I’m thinking Mason brings some fight in this one. If they can move the ball on the ground, there won’t be a lot of possessions for either team.

Wynn is a Campbell grad, correct? I think he is a solid coach.

I wouldn’t discount former CovCath opponent Bishop Watterson either. Ohio is crazy deep.

No easy feat for sure. But the post is for the teams on Moe’s schedule. Walsh Jesuit and Akron Hoban would be competitive games for Moe as well.

Agree, you won’t get big RPI swings late in the season. My only point was CovCath would get a class bump for a potential win over Campbell in the RPI calculation.

If CovCath were to win against Campbell County, they would get a bump for beating a team from a bigger class.

The Colonels had a tough second round game last year as well. District 6 is a good district. The difference from last year is not getting wins against Ryle or Highlands early in the season brings the RPI down this year. District opponents Grant, Harrison, and Holmes being among the bottom 5 RPI schools in District 5 thru 8 also doesn't help.
