  1. My thinking the person who takes pictures is a lady??? And the person that keeps stats is Puck??? I know who the middle school coach is, but the other two I can't figure that one out?
  2. And it has never happened again for them.
  3. Well goodluck to them, I hope they can put something together. My understanding is the "band kids" have been the most consistent coming to weightlifting. As Mrs Grigson says "kudos".
  4. That was a special team and very special coach and a bunch of guys that listened to one of the best coaches in the state of KY and learned how to win. They wanted to win. And they had a lot heart!
  5. Now Now Now, I never said they shouldn't be allowed to play more then one sport... Read my post again... if you are satisfied with being medicore or less then average, then so be it.... Every sport is a different type of conditioning. Basketball is a training at high intervals because you run non-stop. Football you sprint and stop, sprint and stop. Totally two different types of conditioning. How many basketball players do you see "bulked up"? They can't have all that bulk that you get from pumping iron. How many basketball players max out each week with squats, bench and clean?
  6. Ding Ding Ding- someone ring the bell- there we have it; D E D I C A T I O N......
  7. Excellent young lady and a very talented athlete! What is Bourbon County bringing into play this year? They typically have some really nice ball players...
  8. It was a joke, if you couldn't tell?:walk:
  9. I think you are still missing out on the main-liner I am seeing as part of the problem that you asked about. Small school and kids are spread thin. Male population for sports isn't all that big right now. Basketball team def. struggles, football falling on hard times, and while they were playing basketball winning all three or however many games, they could've/should've been in the weightroom, then spring baseball begins and there goes many more weeks of missing out in the weightroom... Now if you and whoever else sees that as no problem, then I guess it must be okay.
  10. One of the pros of a small school. What an acomplishment.:thumb:
  11. I didn't say anything about knowing that.... Isingtheblues did, I concurred that you can't believe everything kids say.
  12. That would be great, but my degree is in something else.
  13. Yeah that is true, could've been a meeting about equipment! Keep your ears open as will I !
  14. I do believe that is part of the reason this thread was posted. TO air out the problems and try to clear the air in Paris. That I am sure will help applicants know what type of situations they are going to have to work with deal with and try to work out with fans/players/administration/teachers....:thumb:
  15. You truly are a good man. AND I totally agree that everyone has to work together, not just work around one's schedule and that is considered working together. Paris has a nostalgic look and that is very unique. But we can't grow old with the fixtures there either. I am about all out of ideas. Someone else can take over.... thanks!:thumb:
  16. So can anyone on here verify that they have been in touch with Paris Schools regarding the coaching position? If so, can you give us any information on what the plan is for moving forward?
  17. And it's not that I really disagree, its just one of the pros/cons of being a small school like Paris, something suffers, it will struggle to be well rounded. I personally believe that when a kid gets to high school its time to narrow it down. Nothing wrong with being an athlete and able to excel... But in this case how many football/basketball players dedicate to the weightroom. I know that answer, does anybody else? Can someone tell me if the City School District Boundaries have grown or has it stayed the same in the last ten years? I believe it has stayed the same. The growth in the Bourbon County is happening in the County School District Boundaries.
  18. Yeah I stated that as a pro/con.
  19. Nice post. And yes that is wonderful thing about 1A Schools. Some think it is a good thing that the kids can participate in every sport. (I don't think that, I think a kid should stick with one sport, just my opinion) And in Paris' case, the football players are generally the majority of the basketball players or the baseball players and the track team... My only problem with this is, when you are spread thin, then something suffers, and right now the boys basketball is beyond hard times, and the football is following right along. Girls basketball has thrived really well the last 4 years. Nothing is really "well rounded". But that IMO, there are the pros and cons. Academically Paris is good... And that should be priority #1, just seems nothing much else is a priority after that, and that is not fair. When I was in school, on Fridays in town, the town was pretty much decorated in Orange & Black. The crosstown rival was so fun! We had parades, fights, and that other stuff.... I even have suggested that the school start a Pep Club again... I don't know how hard they pushed it though? I think a lot of problems could be solved if the school hired me as a consultant!
  20. They were a force to be reckoned with. Even these last three seasons Paris had some really good teams... I really am suprised they didn't go deep in the playoffs. This years team lacked special components. And I have discussed that a millions times on here. They really hung in and played really hard... Just some things were missing... I tip my hat to this years seniors, I thought they played hard and worked hard, regardless what other may think or say. They had major milestones so to speak! But anyways your second line. It is only as bad as it's made to be. It is not seen as a problem for some but is for others. It is a gap that is going to have to bridged over there. Madam Principal obviously knows nothing about football. She just needs to be educated. And a FYI- Paris was just named the safest place to live in KY in a recent survey done on one of the Lex. News Stations. Not a bad place to live at all! I'll second that! :thumb:
  21. They practice on the parking lot during their class time. I don't think they march on the field but once a week and that is late at night on Mondays?? I think the main problem has been, football players in the band had to march at halftime, marching is part of their grade. Thompson wouldn't allow that to happen, FB players need to be in the fieldhouse at halftime resting and getting instructed. So choices had to be made. Band lost a few kids and football lost a few kids, and a few mad moms. That is the story I was told that went down. If someone knows different then please do correct me. Yeah they did and do have some real track stars that was almost all real. Lost one to grades, another ones mom wouldn't let him play or something to that effect???? One of those guys will be a senior this year, he is their RB. One of those fast track guys graduates this year.
