  1. I don't think that Cobb would ever have left if he hadn't known the program would be in good hands with Lucas. If he had done it earlier, Lucas might not have been appointed interim. Just my thoughts.

  3. Big win for the Jumpers. They're a good team that could be real good by play off time.
  4. Great football atmosphere. Super fans on both sides. Hard fought game. Just the way you like to see the first game of the season. Both teams were hungry for some football. Tough game for anyone to lose but great effort from both teams.
  5. That is NOT what happened. He didn't even talk to her. She was out of town.
  6. How did the Southern Middle-Rockcastle game turn out?
  7. Meece plays as hard as any middle school team that I've seen play in a long time. While the officiating might not have been the best, the kids had nothing to do with it. They beat all teams in the conference twice. They beat N Laurel, Clay and Corbin away during regular season. They won the tournament. Let them enjoy it. They deserve it. Next year they will be in high school and middle school will go at it again.....different players, different parents (maybe), and hopefully different officials. This was Meece's year. I'm sure they felt bad when they got beat in the tournament last year. Wonder if they blamed it on the officiating?
  8. Jumper Dad all the complaining is coming from one or two. That doesn't reflect on all the Redhounds. They have a great team.
  9. How many personal fouls did Corbin have because of their mouths? Which only they control. Those are always big ones. I think it's called discipline.
  10. While the officiating was not the best, Some of the plays that upset the hounds so bad were not bad calls. Watch the films before you complain so much.
  11. I can't remember the year. It was a long time ago. Late 70's maybe. There was a play-off game at Somerset. Blizzard conditions. Below zero wind chill. The wind would blow anything off you if you tried to cover. You could hardly see the players on the field. I think they might have been playing M'boro. Whomever they were playing had a quarterback that would do flips out of the huddle. It could have been early 80's and M'boro might not have been the opponent. I can remember having ice frozen in my hair, eyebrows, and on my clothes. I've always loved football but I must have been young and stupid then. I'm old and stupid now.
  12. First let me say that I don't have a child playing or even in school for that matter but I was at the Meece-Clay Co. game last night. I love football. While the officials were not the best, they missed calls for both teams. Clay Co. seemed to be upset with personal fouls/unsportsmanship calls. The best way to avoid a lot of them is for players and coaches to keep their mouths shut. I was on the Clay Co. side and can honestly say that the language used by the players and coaches was pretty bad. If you're going to say some of the things that was said you'd better not say it so the refs can hear you. If you're going to use foul language all the time you are going to get flagged for it. That's the rules. Also, the coach didn't set a very good example when he told the ref where he could stick his flag. Not once but at least three times. Not smart. I knew one of the officials by name only and he was not a Meece fan. I think he went to Southwestern. Parents from Meece didn't seem to know who they were either. Instead of complaining so much, I would suggest they get their act together and have a little more discipline. That's what got them in trouble.
  13. Congrats to the Patriots...I think they sent a message tonight.
  14. The second half killed them. It was a ballgame for the first half. And yes, 7-1 record is very good but I'm still surprised by the margin. Especially the shut out. PC's offense has clicked all year.
  15. This score seems to reflect what real competition will do to an undefeated team. I felt all along that PC had only played about two pretty good teams. One of them it took an overtime to win and the other PC only won by one or two points. The outcome didn't really surprise me, but the total domination did. DeCross was about the only bright spot for PC.
  16. I don't know why you keep saying SHOULD BE in a certain grade. More people than not choose to start their children to school at a later age. Even girls that are not even involved in sports. There's nothing illegal about waiting until six to start. Nobody can stop a parent from waiting until 6 to start to kindergarten. It gives them the best academic advantage they can have. A parent doesn't even know at that time if their child will even play sports.
  17. Wow! Was there that many late hits called? The O-line should be protecting better than that. I didn't realize they called that many.
  18. Meece had an 8th grade starter with a broken hand too. He's a very good player. I don't think that Meece has a BEST player. They play as a team. Both 7th and 8th.
  19. I thought fans from both sides were very well behaved Saturday night. I only saw one Northern coach flagged. I didn't see all of either games so I could be wrong about that. As far as the parent thing, that could be said about all schools. EVEN YOURS.
  20. That's great! It was a scary time for a while.
  21. Maroon Man can you answer how the quarterback is? Several people have asked and expressed concern. Do you know?
  22. I'm not a Redhound fan but I know they love their football over there and can't imagine they would cancel a game.
  23. The quarterback getting hurt took a lot of the fun out of the game. I will have to agree that Meece did not look as good as they have looked. Northern played hard.
