Seems there would have been a mention when DeSales played southend rival Holy Cross or at least the district leader CAL.

This must not be a game worth mentioning. A prediction was not given on the CJ sports webcast nor was there a mention of the DeSales-CAL game which DeSales won.

I agree that they have turned things around and play very mistake free..... I meant to put a poll on this thread but had trouble.... next time

If you watch the sports show webcast on http://www.courier-journal.com; Jason Franks, I think is his name, predicts CAL to win. The other guy gave the win to DeSales. The paper named Jason as picking DeSales to win in a close scoring twenty something win. Do not know if this is the same Jason or not but WTF. Win be an interesting game from how undecided everyone seems to be in who prevails. If anyone had the pleasure to watch the last game against Holy Cross you could easily pick DeSales based on that game. However every opponent is different and one could only assume DeSales will play as the previous game. You would hope they will build on their sucess from game to game. I feel they will come out pumped up and ready to take it to CAL.

I tend to give these polls a little credit since those voting have some high school IQ. Seems the team who comes to play and makes fewer errors wins this one. I do not know much about CAL except their quarterback is very good. I do not know if they have much size or speed. They must have something going for them if they have been able to put up the yards they have thus far in the season. Anyone who knows either program can you break it down as how the game can be won or lost for either team? What will cause problems for either team by the other assuming both teams are healthy and playing sound football? I am sure the CJ will pick CAL to win and as usual the score will be low scoring and close.

Maybe this game will receive some news coverage unlike the Louisville Holy Cross game.

Defense is going to be the key to winning this game. CAL has a good offense that can both run and pass for good yardage. DeSales will have to play a very disciplined game throughout putting points up both in the air and on the ground as in the Holy Cross game. DeSales will have to have a good night on defense disrupting the pass game of CAL.

DeSales will win this match up based on their play yesterday against Louisville Holy Cross. They looked like a well oiled machine that was well coachedl. They have won their last two games by a large margin. The CJ had them losing against Cross in a close low scoring game. I am disappointed that more is not mentioned about DeSales as no score was posted in today' paper. These kids deserve a little recognition by those covering high school football. Go Colts!!! Should be an exciting game. These kids are fired up and are ready as they have home field advantage.

You obviously know both teams very well. I could not agree with you more as both players are one ingredient to their perspective defense. Sounds like both teams have a defense that could cause problems for each teams offense and the interesting thing is both teams run a similar offense. I have heard some really good things about Owen Co. being a really good team with a lot of talent. It would be good for DeSales to get some pass plays working for them this game.

Listed as Boze, #74, may be wearing another number. Jersey has not been found since returning it after individual Senior pics. So maybe #76 ot 78. 6' tall, 213lbs. I will look for #53 Creech as well.

It would be interesting to see how many predictions were correct throughout the weeks. I would be willing to guess a high percentage of the polls are correct in their prediction.

You guys have been very accurate in your predictions. There are obviously some very well informed high school football fans posting here. Some of you could give advise to the two at the Courier-journal giving their analysis and predictions.

If Owen Co. pounds it down the middle they will not do very well. Not to contradict your feelings on the ability of their offense. I have watched DeSales and you are trying to take out their strong aspect of the defense if you plan to go down the middle to weaken them. Where they have been beat is running to the outside of the end or scrambling to the gaps. If you plan to pass it better be a slant to the sideline. My son is also a decent DT or DE and he averages 6 tackles a game. He will be playing with 100 percent intensity looking to take out any player coming his way. So don't count on the defensive line tiring as they do not plan on being on the field for as long as previous games. I do not think fatigue will be a factor.

Where are these teams ranked in their district? I get LCA confused with CAL. I hear LCA has a pretty talented quarterback.

I find the posts very interesting. Makes me a bit nervous going into this game as it sounds as if it may be a close game if I am reading the comments correctly. I know nothing of Owen Co. except that they may run a similar offense with some things thrown in to trick up the defense a bit. It would be good for DeSales if it is not a close game, but a decisive win. Anyone know directions please advise as will be my first time to the school.

I don't know much about Owen Co. except for their record. I do intend on making the trip to watch the game. Do not be misled by DeSales' record as they are a much better team. They have come off to a slow start with some weaknesses that have been exploited by their opponents and some mistakes that have cost them a win. They are a young team with only 7 or 8 seniors to carry the team. They do have some very hard working player with a never die attitude. They are going to be hard to stop as they will continue to improve the next several games. DeSales needs a win in order to help with the morale of the team which right now is very suspect as they have had a great difficulty to get that check in the W column. I hope Owen Co. is not underestimating DeSales due to their record.

From what I understand the Freshman squad is made up of about 26 kids give or take a few. Really good number for a 2A school. I would be surprised if most of the larger schools in the area have those numbers. They have some really good players and should reinforce last years group which went undefeated. So, DeSales will be a team to watch in the coming years. Which the outstanding coaching and talented player coming through we can only look for more good things from the Colts. They are nurturing a solid football program that kids will want to continue to be apart of in the coming years.

I am from Henderson and would certainly love to attend but will be out of town. As the previous poster said it is a 2-21/2 hour trip and the stadium is very nice. Should be a good attendance by both teams fans. I have not been to a football game since I left in "89" but I am sure with the school expanding and it being the only high school in the ever growing area the atmosphere will be electrifying.
