I am not bad mouthing or bashing the football program or the school as a whole for that matter. I graduated from Paris under the Reese/Goins era so I know what the tradition is and I think its a shame that under this new administration things have gone down hill. Until they get people involved who actually care about a program, then it will never get better.

After reading 3 pages on what a mess the administration vs. football is, I don't know why anyone would want to stay for the long haul.....

On another note, does anyone know if the hiring/interviewing process has begun? I was on the KHSAA website looking at the jobs and Paris only has asst. coach openings listed,and not the head coach position.

Real clever. However I don't think the spring practices helped Paris this past year as they only went 2-8. Maybe they should have just lifted throughout the summer and they could have managed one more win.:laugh:

Well now that we know Lex Cath will probably win the 11th, I think that Montgomery will have the better chance of knocking them off in the state tourney. I gotta pull for the Indians now in hopes for a good showing in Diddle.

Mason needs to win this one or it could be a few years before they have another chance! I'm taking the Royals, 61-57

Tony Sosby always puts decent teams on the field. I think two of his bball players, Ivy and Elizabeth Stamper will come up big. As for Hinkson and Paris, she is a good pitcher, teams find it hard to hit a lefty, Paris has always struggled on scoring runs. Hopefully they have some power hitters in the lineup.

Isn't that what the 2 months of summer are for? I think you can get quite a bit of weightlifting in in two months before you start football practice.

These 2 players said they knew the one guy because he coached middle school, and the other because he takes pictures and keeps stats for high school. The other they didnt know who it was but said they had seen him around the games.

This could obviously be its own thread. Polling the bluegrass whether or not small a schooled students should be allowed to play other sports, or if this issue of not weightlifting is happening to other schools. I don't understand the difference between weightlifting and staying active anyway. They are running and building leg strength anyway. And a baseball player is building arm strength from pitching/batting, and who said that these other sports don't have weightlifting exercises for them anyway?

Equipment? Why would they be worried about equipment right now when I'm sure all 3 of these guys are trying to bring Paris football back to the days when they played! It could be about them taking over Spring Practice :sssh:

Didn't know if I should post this, but since you asked, why not? Last night I ran into 2 football players who said they saw 3 guys associated with the middle school program meeting with the AD yesterday afternoon. Anyone else hear this? Coming from students you never know what to believe:confused:

I agree with blues.. If you don't have all the kids play multiple sports then you aren't going to have enough. I also don't think its fair to make a kid choose between football and band. If you are in band, great, but on Friday nights during the game, yes you should be in the locker room with your team. Leave the band stuff for after/during school and Saturday's for competitions.

You talk about kids playing multiple sports, well at a small school like Paris, if you don't play more than one sport then you probably won't have enough to field a team..

I'm with Knute. Spring Practice is pretty much out...unless of course you want to do it. :thumb: But yes I think the AD has already posted the postion and going to try and hire someone within a few weeks.

I'm sure there will still be plenty to discuss.. maybe along the lines of how bad they still are...
