It was a well fought game on both sides. I hope the Conner players that got hurt are back in action pretty quick. Conners QB delivers a nice ball to his receivers and the receiver made some pretty impressive catches.

The QB looks like he had a lower leg injury. #7 left the game with a shoulder injury. 2 other players one with a leg injury and the other with what appeared to be a shoulder injury. The officials got a little flag happy in the 3rd quarter and pinned Conner back deap. They called 2 big plays back of which one was a long TD pass and on that play they lost their QB.

Final Dixie 46 Conner 28. Was a close game until Conner QB got hurt in the 3rd quarter and didn't return. Dixie pretty much controlled the game from there.

Dixie practiced from 7:30am until 11 or 11:30am during the summer which included lifting. This years practices seemed to last longer than in the past.

Dixie did practice when the power was out last week. This year's Senior class has low numbers, but they also had lower numbers as Juniors. Dixie has lost about 10% of the roster from when the season started, definitely not 33%. Hopefully the team will do much better in the second half of the season this year. Two a days when the season starts would be a good thing for a few weeks. As late as the season starts with pads though, they only had a short time until school started this year. Would help them play more like a team spending more time together, even if they viewed film for the second practice and went over plays. Spring ball would have been difficult when so many starters play other sports in the spring - unless more kids just focus on football.

DeMatteo started and played 2 or 3 plays, got knocked on his back, got up slow and never got another snap at QB. Wilson finished out the game and did a pretty good job. DeMatteo did get a lot of playing time on defense. Klei was the back and had a great game. 2 or 3 td's and well over 100 yards rushing.

Turkeyfoot has to compete with the NKYL Spartans, Erlanger Lions and Raiders also....

I heard through the grape vine that Wilson is out as QB and DeMatteo is in. I heard they also have a new starting WR but it's not Wilson.

They had quite a few kids out there but I don't know if that included the freshman or not.

I went to the scrimmage. Dixie dominated both sides of the ball. Dixie looked good but I think that was mostly due to Cooper being not so good. Dixie's a little on the small side this year but they have some pretty good speed.
