I understand why the franchise wants to put any new stadium in Tampa. The Bucs do OK and the Lightning rank in the top 5 NHL franchises in regard to attendance annually. The vast majority of the population of Tampa Bay with disposable income reside north of the bay. They live in Tampa, it's suburbs, and unincorporated communities in Hillsborough and Pasco Counties. Most of those people live 30 to 50 miles away from the Trop. Westly Chapel, New Tampa, Brandon, ... everything is so spread out down here. Take a look at the concentration of population of within 20 miles of GABP. As an example, my Aunt's home in Indian Hills is only 20 miles from there and that's considered a haul to go to a game. When I lived in Citrus Park, I was 30 miles from Tropicana Field and considered relatively close because I was in South Hillsborough.

My problem is not with the Rays wanting a new field. They need to be in Tampa. Most of the fans are there. I just want no part of paying for any portion of it.

It is to be in Tampa, right across from Raymond James Stadium and actually adjacent to Steinbrenner Field to the south. You can see Steinbrenner to the north of the thing in the fake drone pick. It Is the Yankee's spring training home and where the Rays played last year. Neither of which has ever been affected by any hurricane that has hit the Bay Area. It's location is almost 40 miles from the coast. Even though it is only 6 miles from the closest shore line of Tampa Bay, it would take a Cat 5 type storm surge to get any water near it.

Ryan Day was calling plays last night after Brian Heartline left for USF after the Big Ten Championship game. Not sure if that played any part in the outcome, but with the CFP in place now, the NCAA or the way coaching contracts are written going forward needs to hold coaching changes until after the CFP has completed. One has to wonder how the loss of the much of the coaching staff at Ole Miss with affect the game tonight.

The coaching staff is gone to Auburn and other places. Byron Brown was a coach instead of a playing for God's sake. Most of the other starters opted out as well. This outcome did not surprise me. I have a feeling a lot of the bowl outcomes will be disappointing. Theses worthless bowl games need to be gone and the playoffs expanded.

They had to act fast and Rob Higgin's pulled off a stunner. They had to get at least someone notable to keep the players that they have. Alex Golesh was the OC at Tennessee when he was hired. It will be interesting to see if Byron Brown follows Golesh to Auburn. While it makes sense, given he has been successful in Golesh's offense, what happens with Aston Daniels, Deuce Knight, and Jackson Arnold? Fun times in the portal coming.

Could not agree more. I didn't watch the game, so I don't know how they messed this one up, though it looks like they tried to make a comeback in the 4th. I was watching Kalamazoo at Trine. Trine scored with 19 seconds left to win it 25-24. ?
