That's exactly the reason some people went up there. And it is a problem considering the sheriffs office has to keep deputies there just to keep looky loos out of the sub division.

 

I was up there 15 minutes after the tornado hit, and I've never seen so many people wanting to get into the harvesters.

 

Eh I understand both sides, a female friend put it best IMO the other day she said "people have to remember that these images or memories you may be capturing are people trying to put their lives back together and still trying to find the pieces that they aren't even sure exist.". I guess I just understand both sides of it, I certainly feel for the the victims but I understand the curiosity, especially by those that are trying to help. They want to see what they're helping to make better.

Curiosity is fine, and you can find plenty of videos and pictures online But too many looky loos make it hard for actual helpers since traffic is backed up.

You know I understand, I just understand both sides. We've been blessed in that we're lucky to have curious on lookers that don't see this devstation often/ever, hopefully it just carries with them. I'm excited I'm not going to lie. I want to make this area something that makes the news and I'm not talking local or national. I want people to see that our community worldwide is what we live for because I know it is. I didn't do any thing the first two days and it broke my heart. I literally felt sick but I couldn't and I knew I could help later this week and I'm excited to do it. I know we will get thru this.

 

HB I am SOSOSOSOSOSOSOSSSSOOOOOOOO thankful because I know you know where this location is. My sister lives right across from Lloyd's park and I'm sure you've seen how much they were spared. Amazing. It turned about a mile or two north. It's just amazing. You know, you know.

Maybe 2 miles south of the Crittenden exit on the east side, have to cross the rail road tracks to get there. There's a BP on the west side of 25 and my sister lives literally 5 Peyton Manning toucdown passes from there lol. Subdivision on the left after you cross over the expressway.

If you have to cross rail road tracks I'm thinking Gardnersville Road. That would be near Lloyd's wildlife as well, but no crossing the expressway. So I'm confused. :lol:

I went through the area Saturday and I'll be volunteering there wednesday thru Monday..

I mentioned earlier my neice had a little damage, I went to her house and she was very lucky. 100 yards past her house was a complete mess. Saw a few folks just cruising by to gawk. I took some quick pics but it does not really capture the devastation of what actually happened. The bishop did not yet ask for an extra collection, I'm assuming he will next week. If folks actually saw what happened they may be more willing to open their wallets. I agree they cannot interfere with the efforts of the wonderful folks who have already put in so many extra hours of help, but seeing what mother nature has unleashed to our neighbors just minutes from our own comfy homes gives us a new perspective.
