Harrison played tough but the Lady Bears once again prove they are winners. It will be an uphill battle tomorrow, but Bracken can do it if they all pull together.

Dorem was a beast inside for Harrison tonight. Does anyone know how many rebounds she had?

Bracken seemed to have the jitters in the first four minutes, but then settled in for the rest of the 1st half. Mallory Bell was solid yet again in the 1st half, just as she was against Mason County last Thursday. Once the Lady Bears got the ball in the basket & could set up their press, that's when they started rolling...forcing Harrison into a lot of turnovers.

 

In the second half, I felt like Bracken gambled for steals too often in the press & ended up getting burned several times. Randy may have even yelled a few times at the girls to quit taking so many chances. For Harrison, Doram also took control in the 2nd half & Bracken had no answer for her. She is a load in paint & will be a force to be reckoned with over the next couple of years.

 

As they did in last week's District tourney, Lady Bears hold on for a nice victory. Bailey Cummins makes some huge plays down the stretch, along with Jordan Wills. They hit 4-4 FT's in their final two possessions.

 

Realistically, the Lady Bears have little chance to upend powerhouse Montgomery County tomorrow night. Regardless, this has been a memorable season for this young squad. Congrats on the win tonight, ladies! :thumb:

Doram had 26 points and 20 rebounds for Harrison County tonight. She had a good game and kept the Fillies in it until the end. However this team must have consistent scoring from other positions on the floor, fewer turnovers and better defense.

Congrats to Coach K and his staff and team! Last time they defeat Mont Co was in '89.

Wow! I knew it was a long time, but not that long. I thought some of those early 90's teams might have beaten them, but I guess not.

Safe to say both 38th district teams are done. SIGH!!
