I thought Rehring should have touch the ball on the blocks more for Pendleton. I would have got him some more touches in the post to see if he could score or get easy opportunities for shooters if they doubled. I also was surprised that Pendleton didn't run many plays for Monroe. The only plays they ran for him was when they spread it out or went flat and let him drive. This allowed Grant to get in good help position.

This team continues to confuse me. A lot of talent left, and I've learned better than to ever count out Coach Simms in the postseason. They have enough talent on the court and on the coaching staff to still make a run.

 

No denying they've underachieved in the regular season though. A strong postseason run, and no one remembers that though.

The regular season for Pendleton is not the concern right now!! They're busy preparing for Harrison and Harrison is preparing for the Wildcats. That is the game of most importance right now!!

I am sure they are preparing for Campbell Co on Friday before Harrison in two weeks.

Don't be naive. Yes, they are putting an emphasis for Campbell County, but all coaches have an eye toward opponent(s) come tournament time. They aren't telling their kids that, but I bet days like Wednesday (one day after a game and another day to prepare for Friday's opponents) are about working on things they plan to use against somebody in district. I would be shocked if Pendleton didn't have eyeballs in the gym everytime Harrison plays from here on out and vice versa. If not, then IMO the coaches aren't doing their job.

I hate hearing these comments about Coaches not doing their jobs! What exactly is their jobs anyway. The first thing they have to do is be a teacher from 7:30-3:00 every day!!! They have to prepare their practice plans and get their own teams ready. Then we expect them to scout every time an opponnent plays??? When do they have time to do that? Then if they send someone else, who are they sending? Do they really know what they are seeing when scouting??? These are high school coaches not professional coaches. They have other job duties and just can't spend all day on nothing but coaching. I think to many people forget that fact.

Ok let me restate then. A lot of coaches are out every night they possible can or are on the phones daily tracking down tapes - anything to give their team an advantage. And IMO from Dec 1 to mid March that is very much part of their job description. Most staffs have at least 3 (a lot more than 3) coaches who can help distribute some of the scouting.

PC has not played well in a few weeks and that does not bode well for the post-season and their match-up against Harrison County. They have all kinds of talent, but they have certainly under-achieved this season and perhaps were a bit overrated when the season began. Nonetheless they should have won more games then they have this season. PC has all the tools to make a run in post-season, but I have said this all season, they are not a very good offensive team. Their offensive game plan leaves a great deal to be desired. So much they could do with the weapons they have, but they insist on quick-hitters and the pick-n-roll game w/Monroe.
