Maybe the coaching staff(which I think is new) is still searching for the best rotation. Bellevue was 10-14 last year with the 3(4) starters you mentioned, what kind of improvement did you expect? It's still early, give it time, maybe things will be brighter for the Tigers down the road.

 

That record is a little deceiving. A lot of those games were close until the 4th quarter when unfortunately, fatigue set in. We only used 7 players last year. The fans of Bellevue expected much more of an improvement with the players we returned.

Patience. They are 3-4 this year with the bulk of the D 3 games upcoming. Better to get waxed by 50 now and make changes/corrections.

What does it matter if NCC beats you by 50 or 21? These early losses can be time to test different combinations and rotations that may make a difference in games that can be won. I saw them play against Ludlow and gave the Panthers (who have superior and deeper talent) all they wanted. I think that they will be ready for the D3 conference schedule.

Well when you are that far down maybe the coach was trying some different combinations.

 

Bellevue will be okay once they get into the D3 part of the schedule. They won't go anywhere in the district unless they draw Dayton and draw opposite NCC, Highlands, and Newport. They probably won't have much success in the All-A either but its not like they won't win another game.

Having seen both Dayton and Bellevue play I would take Bellevue right now because Dayton has absolutely no answer for Wright. Now that doesn't mean both teams will be the same at season's end. Both I'm sure are looking for combinations that work well together.

 

And don't compare the scores versus NCC because Dayton lost by 20 to NCC's JV team and 1 starter while Bellevue faced the full squad.

Of course you need other players but honestly if you take Wright off that team they would struggle tremendously. I don't want to critique individual players but Wright is the best ball handler, best shooter, best penetrator, best passer, and best scorer.

I'm definitely not trying to take anythng away from Wight. The other players deserve to be recognized for their efforts as well. Wight could not do it alone, as you stated.

No offense to the other players on Bellevues team but Wight pretty much kept them in the game with Ludlow. Even though they kept coming back against Ludlow I wasn't very impressed and I thought Ludlow played a pretty bad game that evening.
