All Play No Work Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 24-5 after 1 45-12 Half 65-24 after 3
Baller2007 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 This is so disappointing. NCC is a better team, however they are not that much better (50 pts.), in my opinion. Bellevue has talented players and they return 4 starters from last year. Unfortunately, they aren't being utilized to the best of their abilities. It's going to be a very long season.
EQUUS GREVYI Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 And Bellevue played Ludlow so very close. I'm a little surprised NCC beat the tigers so badly.

Haven't heard much about the McHale kid. Is he starting?
Baller2007 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 No. The last I heard Pat McHale is still inelligible due to his grades. He hasn't played one game all year.
Baller2007 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 And Bellevue played Ludlow so very close. I'm a little surprised NCC beat the tigers so badly. We were all surprised to hear of this huge blowout. The worst part is that there was absolutely no reason for it. It never should have happened. That team has so much talent but like I said before, their talent is not being used correctly. Of course, this is all just my opinion.
EQUUS GREVYI Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 How many did Kiernan score? Bellevue doesn't match up well with him. He is huge and pretty quick for his size.
All Play No Work Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 How many did Kiernan score? Bellevue doesn't match up well with him. He is huge and pretty quick for his size. Kiernan only had 9 points. Bellevue did a decent job on the inside but their guards do not play much defense and allowed the NCC guards to go to the basket so easily they really did not throw it inside much. Wright is a solid player and a great shooter if not covered out to NBA range but when the other team forces the ball out of his hands bad things happen for Bellevue. No other real shooters and no inside game.

All Play No Work Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 Bellevue's starting forward was sitting on the bench halfway through the first quarter for some unexplainable reason. Go figure! Well when you are that far down maybe the coach was trying some different combinations. Bellevue will be okay once they get into the D3 part of the schedule. They won't go anywhere in the district unless they draw Dayton and draw opposite NCC, Highlands, and Newport. They probably won't have much success in the All-A either but its not like they won't win another game.

It's always easy to point and say "that's the problem" maybe you should help with a solution and offer some suggestions on how to help the team improve. It's still early in the season, things can still change. You said they have 4 returning starters. Then I read that one kid is sitting out who started, so that's 3 returning starters. Why do you think they're not being used correctly? Is it the rotation? Coaching? Be more specific.

I stand corrected, I should have stated Bellevue returns 3 starters who are elligible and a 4th in McHale. I do not want to get into "coach bashing". I do not know the coach personally. My observations come only from sitting in the stands and watching these boys play, as I have done for years. In my humble opinion, our best 5 players do not even start the game and the substitutions that are made make no sense. We have 2, possibly 3 players who can come off of the bench and make an impact. The morale on this team is at an all time low. Like I stated previously, it's going to be a long season for the Tigers. I still wish them the best of luck and hope that somehow this season gets turned around. I will always be there cheering them on.

Maybe the coaching staff(which I think is new) is still searching for the best rotation. Bellevue was 10-14 last year with the 3(4) starters you mentioned, what kind of improvement did you expect? It's still early, give it time, maybe things will be brighter for the Tigers down the road.
