Well, I think that is the difference in the BGP poll and the other polls. I think the rankings are based on more than recent occurrence. They're a feel on who should be where. Of course, all of those things should be considered IMO, but again, if you rank the BEST team in the state at the top, I think the BEST team in the state is Trinity.

No argument from me about Trinity being the best team in the state. My thing is these rankings have dates on them and at this current date no one has beaten Madison Central and the one time they played Trinity they won. Madison Central shouldn't be punished because we think they would lose 7-8 games to Trinity in a 10 game series. They should be rewarded for doing what no one thought they could do and still being the lone undefeated team in the state. As of 1/28/2012.

Moving up from 5 to 2or3 would be punishment? The game before Trinity, they had a late comeback to barely beat a not so strong Lincoln Co. by 1. Don't get me wrong, I love Mad.Central and think that considering the sweet16 draw, if they win their region, they are one of the faves to win it all, especially considering 6/7 in the first round eliminates another favorite right out of the gate. And I know all of those kids on Mad Central very well. Personally, I'd be tickled to death if they won it all. But, regardless of the outcome of that game, which I think we all can agree was suspect at the minimum, I think T is #1. On another note, I wouldn't doubt for one second that they don't represent their region in Rupp. That thing is a gauntlet.

I understand what you're saying. I think that is fair reasoning for keeping Trinity #1. I'd rank Madison Central #1 for now but I definitely can understand and respect the argument against.

 

I would not be shocked for them or Trinity to not win their region. Not shocked at all. It's going to be a fun next 49 days.

All I said was that the majority of the crowd was for Central. Is that not true? No more, no less.

I agree, but to play it like it was us against the world is a bit over the top. I read every post in the game thread, so I understand how that went. I wasn't there, and have to think that the simple proximity of Richmond had to make travel easier. And on the other hand, I've seen Trinity twice this season away from home and they don't travel particularly well to be quite frank.

^ No we don't....we'll travel to Rupp, but that's about it.

And it's a shame RP. Maybe they don't know what they've got there.

That's not really it....just hard to turn a culture. We travel everywhere for football...basketball is much more difficult.
