He was 20/21 when they were married and she was barely out of high school. They've been married for 10 or 11 years and he has cheated no telling how many times. How is she a gold digger again? Is every extremely hot woman that dates a rich guy her a gold digger? I could understand if she was 18 and was chasing Bill Gates, but it was a 21 year old Kobe Bryant.

 

I'm with you on the rest of it. No chance if I'm Kobe, 21, the #1 guy in the NBA, living in LA, am I getting married. I'd punch anyone that mentioned it to me. I said the same about Tiger.

Yes. His family was against him marrying her at the time and yes, I would question ANY 18/19 year old girl's intentions if a 20/21 year old rich, soon to be superstar wanted to marry her. Why would should stay with him all of these years knowing he has been cheating on her? Does it have to do with the Cali divorce laws that state after x amount of years of marriage that the woman is entitled to half of her husband's earnings to maintain the lifestyle she had during marriage? Would you stay with your wife if she cheated on you repeatedly? Now ask yourself the same question and add the fact that your wife brings in 20+ million a year but you both do whatever you want to do to whomever you want to do it to and you have unlimited access to the money. That's why I say he should have been smarter. She has been ready for this since she made him by her a 5 million dollar ring for cheating on her.

 

And obviously this divorce isn't affecting him at all.

I have always felt that any woman who marries a rich man, or in Kobe's case obscenely rich man with an obscenely rich future, that they do so because he is rich. I would only not give them the gold digger label if they were a childhood sweetheart or truly didn't have a clue that he was rich. There is 0 chance that Vanessa didn't know who Kobe was when they met. No way she marries him if he is just a struggling semi pro player with failed hoop dreams and a minimum wage job.
