Did "The White House" suggest it or did "some guy who works at the White House" suggest it? It sounds like this was something floated at a meeting and that it was universally disliked.

cammando ... it seems pretty obvious that you reached too far on this one. The credibility of your post and link are shot down and you ignore facts to try and argue your point as being valid. Open your mind and consider that you missed on this one. I don't read all your attack threads (boy who cried wolf) but when I saw the title on this one I had to take a look because it seemed so out there. Support for veterans is something Obama speaks about often and I would have been shocked if he were in favor of anything that was not supportive of veterans. So I am not surprised to see this one has no merit.

 

Also, pre-emptive response here ... I know by replying this way I immediately get the liberal label from you and perhaps others. Wrong. I vote for Republicans in every election so work on another attack response before trying to throw your canned liberal name calling at me.

Try sticking to the issue... What does it matter if it was today or yesterday or several years ago.

If we're talking in general and not saying that the President IS TODAY promoting this then I say he needs to tread lightly. The initial plan was conceived as a way to lower costs to taxpayers. Obviously taxpayers are looking to lower costs. However, if it somehow jeopardizes the vets' existing private healthcare policy as in they may get dropped due to the amount of the cost to the insurer then it cannot go through.

 

We put these folks in harms way and did so, in some people's minds, without proper forethought. We owe it to them to make sure their recovery is fully covered. It has to be on our dime.

 

The only way I would be for it is if we knew the private insurer would not drop them.
