December 13, 201114 yr That's not according to the Houston Chronicle, that's according to the opinion of Republican Kay Bailey Hutchinson. Big difference. So the data she references is opinion?
December 13, 201114 yr So the data she references is opinion? I have no idea she didn't cite one source. I do know that it wasn't a researched article it's an opinion piece.
December 13, 201114 yr That's not according to the Houston Chronicle, that's according to the opinion of Republican Kay Bailey Hutchinson. Big difference. Ah yes. Attack the messenger and not the message. I expected nothing less. You sound as if you have done your research. Please, enlighten me as to where the Senator was wrong?
December 13, 201114 yr Ah yes. Attack the messenger and not the message. I expected nothing less. You sound as if you have done your research. Please, enlighten me as to where the Senator was wrong? I would but I'll just go find an opinion piece and present it as a researched, fact based article.
December 13, 201114 yr I would but I'll just go find an opinion piece and present it as a researched, fact based article. Once again, I expected nothing less out of you.
December 14, 201114 yr Once again, I expected nothing less out of you. I'm sorry you don't like me pointing out the intellectual laziness in your posts.
December 14, 201114 yr I'm sorry you don't like me pointing out the intellectual laziness in your posts. Were you sipping on your tea and crumpets as you posted that?
December 14, 201114 yr As you stated, be careful. Liberal blogs against the pipeline have no more credibility than conservative blogs in favor of it so don't just assume their information is correct. You are correct. Which part of the quoted do you think they lied about? The only people I say have a credibility issue is the Merryman Group. The blogs are just reporting what that group put out.
December 14, 201114 yr Here are links to studies I've read. http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/keystone-pipeline-debate-heats-up/2011/11/04/gIQA824rpM_story.html http://www.keystonepipeline-xl.state.gov/clientsite/keystonexl.nsf/03_KXL_FEIS_Executive_Summary.pdf?OpenFileResource#page=25 http://www.ilr.cornell.edu/globallaborinstitute/research/upload/GLI_KeystoneXL_Reportpdf.pdf#page=6 http://www.ilr.cornell.edu/globallaborinstitute/research/upload/GLI_KeystoneXL_Reportpdf.pdf#page=6 http://www.ilr.cornell.edu/globallaborinstitute/research/upload/GLI_KeystoneXL_Reportpdf.pdf#page=6 Have at 'em , folks.
December 14, 201114 yr You are correct. Which part of the quoted do you think they lied about? The only people I say have a credibility issue is the Merryman Group. The blogs are just reporting what that group put out. Please point out where I said they lied.
December 14, 201114 yr Please point out where I said they lied. I didn't accuse anyone of that especially you. Your implication, a true one, was that a source can be slanted. I agreed. I'm asking where in this case were the facts distorted?
December 14, 201114 yr The jobs claim by the XL project is not supported by evidence. If I remember correctly even the company that would benefit says the jobs created are not very high. Actual number of jobs would be 5k to 6k. So let's use that number when we are debating. Your comment reminds me of people that quit a job due to "not enough pay", even though the they did not have another job lined up to move on to. Seems to me that 5k to 6k would be better than 0k.
December 14, 201114 yr Your comment reminds me of people that quit a job due to "not enough pay", even though the they did not have another job lined up to move on to. Seems to me that 5k to 6k would be better than 0k. Plenty of that going on. Then they blame the economy for not having a job. Sometimes you just have to suck it up and survive, or rely on the Federal government.
December 14, 201114 yr I didn't accuse anyone of that especially you. Your implication, a true one, was that a source can be slanted. I agreed. I'm asking where in this case were the facts distorted? I don't know that any facts were distorted from either article.
December 15, 201114 yr Your comment reminds me of people that quit a job due to "not enough pay", even though the they did not have another job lined up to move on to. Seems to me that 5k to 6k would be better than 0k. I'll just assume you quit reading and didn't see my subsequent post stating that you just can't pass any bill without considering consequences just because it will create jobs.
