If they go undefeated when they are in Big East and there are not 2 other undefeated teams, then they automatically qualify for the title game? I think that a 1 loss team from one of the power conferences would deserve the title shot over the teams that now comprise the Big East.

 

Didn't say they automatically qualify for the title game, but if there's only 2 undefeated teams left and one of them is from the BEast, then they'll be playing for the title. Whether or not I feel they deserve it or not is a whole different topic.

I agree with you, I have never respected either one of these conferences in football. FSU is the only one from the ACC and it shows in the history of the ACC, it was always FSU. And look at the Big 10, always the big two and they didn't win a NC from 1968 until the late 90s/2000s. Thats a long time, and not counting Penn State, and Miami in the ACC. Just weak.

Well, Hello! But look at how many National Championships the Big Ten has had over the last 40/50 years, not counting the Cornhuskers/Penn State.

I completely agree that Virginia Tech doesn't belong; Michigan may somewhat. Regardless of who likes/dislikes Boise, they should be in a BCS game this year. They got snubbed pretty good this year. Last year, I was able to understand them not getting in, but this year, they had a lot more of a case.

Before you go and poo-poo that, keep in mind that the Big East record against the SEC is 23-21 (3-1 in bowl games since the split). They've played the Big 12 straight up. The only conference that has owned the Big East has been the the Big Ten.

If you compare say the #1 team from the Big East with the #1 team from the SEC, right on down the line, do you really think that those records would be the same? UL was the cochampion of the Big East this year and who are they playing in a Bowl game, a very average 7-5 NC St team, who lost to a Wake Forest team that was blown out at home by Vandy.

No other conference in the country country compares to the SEC. Given the fact that Vandy gave Georgia and Arkansas all they wanted and then some, in my opinion, this year's Vandy team could compete in the other 5 BCS conferences quite well. The SEC is that good.

Therefore, if Louisville is facing NC State, who lost to Wake, I guess Wake losing to Vandy devalues the entire ACC, yes? Oh, BTW, Wake also lost to Big East bottom dweller Syracuse.

Good point, I believe you made a pretty strong case. You are obviously much more knowledgable on the Big East than I am, I just saw a couple of big east games this year that and is not really enough to judge the entire conference on.:idunno:
